There are people in the Atlanta music scene who wonder why they're starting to get less respect or why they're getting fewer people to come out to their shows.
I can guarantee one reason is if you ONLY come out when you're involved with the show (promoting, DJing, your band is playing, etc.), then people will begin to lose interest. It's obvious you're not in this to support the scene. You're solely out for your own personal gain.
We all want personal gain, I can understand this all too well. The problem is, the Atlanta music scene is a fickle bitch and if you don't show her some love you won't get any in return. You're put on an unwritten blacklist and people stop coming to see your shows.
The bottom line is, if you want people to come to your show, then you have to go to their shows. I've discovered the hard way, in our music scene, mutual respect is earned not expected.
