I Really Don't Want To Eat Crow
I've been a VERY harsh critic of the upcoming Transformers movie. I'm on Ain't It Cool, Superherohype, and a few other sites all the time saying "FUCK YOU MICHAEL BAY! TINO! THIS MOVIE WILL SUCK! PRIME WITH LIPS AND FLAMES = BATMAN WITH NIPPLES!"
I think I may be eating crow after Thursday night. misfitwes and I have advance passes to see the movie and I have to say I'm really getting excited. I've been watching some featurettes and the new trailers [including one tonight before FF2ROTSS] and I think this movie may rock.
It has tons of action, great effects, Shia has began to grow on me as an actor [there goes a TV commercial on F/X], and the fact that Peter Cullen has said he was in complete awe of what he's seen... I have to shift gears and go into neutral for two days. I like what I've been seeing and the early release reviews from fans have been highly positive.
Speaking of FF2, it wasn't bad. I expected the biggest piece of shit since the Dolph Lundgren Punisher movie, but I had fun. I missed not seeing an actual Galactus, Dr. Doom still sucks ass, there wasn't enough CLOBBERIN' TIME, and Jessica Alba's eyes were FREAKING ME OUT! There were a lot of laughs, a few tips to the hat toward the comics, Stan Lee had a fun cameo, and even Johnny's stint as a "Super Skrull rip-off" didn't completely put me off.
I give it 2.5 out of 5 burps. It's worth seeing once.
