(no subject)
I have been enjoying cooking in the completed kitchen recently and I would love to make some strawberry cupcakes and banana bread this weekend, we'll see if that pans out. It's amazing how much easier things are to accomplish in a kitchen that's not the size of a matchbox, lol. We have more counterspace at our bar than we did in our old kitchen!
I bought a Chinese food cookbook at Crate & Barrel a while back and made cashew chicken last weekend-it was amazing! I was so pleasently suprised! Next up is Kung pao chicken! Oh! And... Our Ralphs sure does carry won ton wrappers!! So George bought some and for dessert, I am going to try my best to make a replica of PF Changs banana spring rolls!! Oh, lord, if you've never had these, you're missing out... Bigtime! The only thing is we couldn't find pineapple coconut ice cream at the store, so we had to settle for vanilla bean. Maybe next time we can make the PC ice cream from scratch?
I am anxious for the summer to be over and the Fall to begin, I hate the heat and want to see the leaves on the trees turning colors again. The hot days have been keeping me from getting some things done, like washing my car, it's so filthy! Also, working on the lawn would be great, but in this intense heat, I'm not sure doing anything but watering would be worth it.
George and I are planning on going to Oak Glen again this year and an upside to moving where we did is that we are so much closer to Oak Glen than we used to be. We may even get our tree there this Christmas (not to mention pumpkins!).
Ok, gotta get back to work!
