well it has again been a while since i updated this thing. since last time i went on spring break. i came home on friday and went out to eat with my parents. on saturday i went down to annapolis with megan hannaby to visit jimmy. we had fun walking around town, ice skating, eating, more eating, and we played some games on the beach and what not. we didnt do anything crazy but it was good to see jimmy. other than that i watched a bunch of movies with ed, folger, corson, etc etc. saw the jacket which was alright, but had a ridiculously unnecessary sex scene. movies suck like that. i also helped pass out flyers for awaks lawn service 3 days. mike got mad at me bc i wouldnt throw any of the flyers away. ooooooooh well.

since ive been back at school ive done same old same old. gone to pasquerilla a good bit. this past weekend i went on the ACF (Alliance Christian Fellowship) retreat which was a ridiculously awesome trip. we broke into 4 teams and had some competitions. each team had to come up with a legend based on an object they gave us, and we had to include famous phrases in the legend so it was fun to see everyone come up with funny stories. we also had a scavenger hunt which was a lot of fun. We also had a few hours of free time in which we played intense games of ping pong, played guitar, did whatever, and i got a chance to meet a lot of new people are all really nice and fun. most importantly though, it was a weekend full of worship and preaching. the speaker was Joe Moussa who grew up in Damascus, Syria, which is phat since thats a Biblical place. He's also planting an Arabic speaking church in York, so I talked to him about that for a bit. He also pastors two churches and is a missionary to Syria. He gave an excellent sermon about how we are responsible for our unsaved friends and family and how God is counting on us. some ppl took notes, im gonna try to get them from him. he also told us about Islam since some ppl were interested. he told us about how hes seen so many Muslims convert to Christianity bc theres an emptiness that they need to fill, and its Jesus that does that. Mohammed basically took Jewish and Christian principles and changed them around, so they cant really fulfill anyone. we also had a time of worship which was great. we started out with a bunch of songs, then there was a time where everyone called out favorite verses, requested songs, and spoke about what God is doing in their lives. it was so inspiring and everyone loved it. one girl talked about how a year ago she used to be suicidal and was always insisting that God hated her, but God saved her from all that and then her brother talked about how shes been such a great influence for him. it was amazing. i wish we could all go back.

on sunday i went to see the great resurrection debate which was between a fundamentalist and an episcopal bishop who doesnt think the resurrection in the Bible is literal. the fundamentalist hardcore schooled the other guy. he talked about how the gospels are in teh style of ancient biographies, and not mythology, and the Aramaic word used for resurrection meant physical resurrection, and he whipped out tons of other great stuff, and the other guys whole speal was basically "is this language literal or poetic? the resurrection was a heavenly experience and thus man could not properly describe it, so they used symbols to describe the resurrection". he had no evidence, it was all his thoughts. he totally discounts the power of God to explain to humans what happened. he seems to forget that the Bible is divinely inspired, and thats why we follow it. he also took all power away from the resurrection. the whole point was that Jesus physically came back to life and thus conquered death for all of us, but this guy says its all figurative but that the resurrection is still important... it made no sense. monday i went to a talk about cults, which was aight, but not as interesting as id hoped.

i got a 66 on an anth test today. im not doing so hot in that class. hopefully my econ test on friday will go better.

ooh ooh something really awesome happened this week. ive always tried to have religious and political talks with heather in the past, but it never really went anywhere. she was completely closed off to the idea of God, which was quite disheartening. so id been praying for unsaved friends and just asking God to use me in a great way and then the other day heather initiated a conversation with me about religion. i was like holy crap this is awesome. she was saying how with her race relations project she was lately feeling it was kinda pointless, bc how is her opinion any better than that of a racist. she was also saying how normally during the election she would have really hated George Bush but she realized it was just her opinion vs his. she said she realized how with moral relativism she can never take a stand on anything bc shes got nothing that makes her opinion better than anyone elses. i thought this was outright amazing. so i explained to her how she ll always have this problem if she doesnt accept God, bc otherwise itll just be her opinion vs someone elses all the time. i also explained how she can never be sure theres no God, but if there is a God we can surely know it, since He's all powerful and what not and can make us certain. we talked about the guy who took that lady hostage and let her go when she read to him about God. we went over a lot of stuff that i dont recall, but it was a talk id been waiting to have with heather for a long time. i tried to bring it up again the other day and she didnt seem as interested, but she had these questions for a reason. and even if its just questions, thats certainly a start. so whoevers reading this please pray for heather and pray that i can be a good influence for her, and be able to answer any further questions for her. God has been doing amazing things in my life and in a bunch of ppl ive met this semester. its so encouraging. praise God.

i also checked out an orthodox Christian church which was way different than anything ive known before. there was a lot of chanting, and repeating, and crossing, and prostrating and what not. it was a work out i tells ya. i wasnt used to it and i didnt know what to do or say most of the time but its just another way of worshiping God and i enjoyed it. ACF was canceled tonight but theres more orthodox stuff tomorrow so thatll be phat. and Easter is soon so ill be going home. booyah for Easter.

oh yeah, and this terri schiavo stuff makes me sick. libs freak out when we try to execute a killer, but theyre cool with starving an innocent woman to death based on the word of her husband who stood by and didnt give her CPR when she needed it, and has since had kids with another woman while claiming hes loyal to terri. ive seen her family and friends all say she would most def not want to die. basically the husband and his family say she would. its really quite disgusting. this woman is ALIVE. ppl have no respect for life anymore and its flat out disgusting. i cant believe this is even an issue. anyone who thinks otherwise about this is sick. theres no two ways about it. youre sick.
