Hurricane Season
Well Hurricane season is now is session. We are on tropical depression number 3, which might strengthen to a tropical storm. And Bertha is still lingering around. I don't think either will come to Florida though, I hope. I love storms but I really hate hurricane season. It's pretty scary when you have to board up your house with shutters or plywood, because a hurricane is near. What's even worse is when you have to evacuate your house. I remember evacuating when Hurricane Floyd came. We traveled all the way to this little town in Florida called Leesburg where we stayed in a shelter at a local Highschool because there was no were else we could go. There were tons of people there too. Worst night of my life. Worrying about my bird in my brother's car that night. I wasn't allowed to bring him inside. And I was afraid things would get rough out there and he would die, but he made it. I never want to experience anything like that again. But I'm very thankful that I haven't actually been seriously effected by a hurricane. Hurricane Andrew, I can remember pretty clear. I was terrified. Let's see that was in '92 so I was..9 or 10 years old. Doesn't seem that long ago but it really was. Sheesh time flies. I hope this season won't be that bad.
