Shook hands with the Father of the Internet

So today I went over to Google for lunch at the invitation of a good friend of mine. Right after guest check-in my friend introduced me to a man named Vint Cerf. I shook hands politely and he and my friend chatted for a bit and then we were on our way to the lunch room. My friend turns to me and said, do you know who that was. I told him I had no idea and he said that's the Father of the Internet, he helped create the Internet.
