I decided a few months ago that I wanted a dryzabone jacket to wear while I work at night, since it gets cold and wet this time of year I figured that what better to keep me dry and warm than a jacket that’s been keeping people warm for like a hundred years or more.
So on may 17th I went into SaddleWorld on Albany hwy and talked to them about it. Since I’m of a much larger stock than normal people, I would have to have one made and ordered in from the eastern states. So I agreed to this, had my measurements taken and set to waiting for 2-3 weeks for my jacket to arrive.
Time passed much as it always does and 3 weeks were gone. I dropped into saddleworld in the morning coming home from work to ask if it was there and pick it up. BUT. the lady at the counter was the same one who took my order and remembered me (which isn’t really shocking since I doubt many ppl order things that size) and told me that my order wasn’t in. she rang the head office in midland and found that the dryzabone company had faxed back the order THE SAME DAY AS I ORDERED IT saying that it would cost an extra %50 due to the size. The head office had not sent this fax onto the kenwick store so the order had never been done, my jacket was far from on the way, and it hadn’t been made yet!
This upset me a tad. I agreed to the extra cost, I just wanted the damned jacket. The young lady said she would try to rush the order and see if she could get it for less than the $300 which it would cost with the extra. I left feeling that it would be a while till I saw my jacket. Later that day I got a phone call from her saying that they had found one in my size! It was black and had a red inside. What could be better I thought to myself! So I agreed and was told that it would be there in a couple of days.
I was busy at work for about a week and a bit, not having the time to call and enquire after my order, and no call came saying it was ready to be picked up.
Four and half weeks from initial order day I ring the store and ask about my jacket. I’m sorry we don’t seem to have a record of your order here, I was told. Cold hatred numbed my brain as thoughts of burning the store to the ground (with them in it) filled my head. Repeating my details and my story to them I asked them to recheck as hard as they could. Success! They had found my order! "IM SORRY" where the fatal words sealing the stores fiery fate as she took me off hold. It still hasn’t come, would you mind holding while I ring the store over east and ask them about it. No worries I said through gritted teeth.
IT HADNT LEFT THE DAMNED EASTERN STATES!!!
The lady kind of said sorry, then said that she would have them send it in on overnight mail. I said fine and that I would ring tomorrow about it. Tomorrow came, it was a Friday. Last Friday to be exact. I rang and it again wasn’t there. I was told that if it had been sent that it would arrive on Monday with other shipments of stuff. So I had another weekend to wait.
It is now Monday.
I have just rung and have been told yes it is in the state. But not at the store. It -might- get there today and if not then it will be there tomorrow. I can just see what’s going to happen. I bet it doesn’t fit. I bet its crap and I don’t like it. Anyway this story is nearly finished, but the ending might not be a happy one. Shall have to wait and see.
