What should I do? No matter what I do it seems like I am on the hot seat anyways.
SO here's the thing. I got reemed for having 52 hours (12 hours of overtime) of work put in last week. I got reemed because the boss is getting reemed for the overtime being put in. Considering I am the one who's mostly getting the OT due to working 2 stores....what can I do? The store I am covering the bookkeeper for is so short staffed in a way....when the weekends come, I am working extra hard to do everything including what I am supposed to be doing.
I was told I should just be able to come in do what I need to and get out on the days I am working two stores. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK....I am acting Customer Service Manager.......what is a CSM supposed to do....pass the buck to someone else when there isn't many people to do anything? A CSM is supposed to be giving complete customer service in my opinion. Customer Service isn't really given very well when it's one person covering someone that's out and unknown if that person is coming back 6 days per week. considering 2 of those weeks are split between two stores.
I don't know....I guess I oculd be looked at as not being a generous person just going in, doing my job, and then just leaving when there isn't many associates to work the front end. Monday and Thursday are the two days we have product coming into the store that needs to be broken down and put out on the shelf. At the same time, monday and thursday are 2 of the 3 days we get perishable product (Meat, Deli, Produce, Dairy) Frozen only comes twice a week and it changes depending if the truck can make it in time to deliver before receiving hours are done for the day. Seems as if I can't make the boss happy because I am not getting done quick enough for him to not pay OT, though it seems okay for 2-4 hours only. It's not an issue. My solution to the whole ordeal is to have another person HIRED in order to give me 2 days off and that person can go between two stores and they won't have OT b/c they would only have to work 7-9 hours each day on those 2 days. It makes sense to me. 9.70 doesn't cut the mustard and I should be making more. I guess 13 years doesn't mean crap.
