Summary: He didn't think a real friend would leave Koushirou in front of that screen all day long.
Constructive Criticism: Fire away! As long as it is constructive, I don't care how harsh it is. :)
It was a nice day. A warm sun, but not too hot. A cool breeze, but not too cold. Birds sang. Flowers blossomed. In the park, a few kids ran through the soft grass, laughing and kicking footballs at each other. A nice day.
Not a good day for anyone sane to be cooped up indoors, Taichi thought. Not a good day for anyone sane to be disagreeing with him, either - although he had a habit of applying that to most days. He would be doing his friend a favour, wouldn't he?
He found Koushirou in the school's computer lab. Typical of the kid, to go back there after school was over.
"Hey, Koushirou," he said casually, "what're you doing?"
Koushirou looked up briefly, then back at the screen. "It's not working," he said, tapping at the keyboard, with just a hint of frustration in his voice. "Even the teachers said... I thought if we tried to reboot it and came back later it'd sort itself out, but -"
The computer rattled. Koushirou jerked backwards, shocked.
"D-Don't do that!"
Taichi paused, one hand raised, about to hit the side of the monitor again. "Why not?" he asked. "It works on mine."
"Just... don't. Please?"
Their eyes met. Both of them relaxed.
"So, are you coming down to the park or not?"
Koushirou gave this a moment's consideration. It was a school computer. It wasn't really his problem. He didn't have to fix it. And if it had waited since lunch break, it could wait until tomorrow, couldn't it? Computers were always there, but nice days were hard to come by.
He stood up, slinging his bag over one shoulder. They walked out together.
