ramblings of a disgruntled Digimon author
Okay, so my muses have bee going crazy all over nifty ideas. In addition to several in-progress stuff. And now this massive big Au ideas that formed at the conjunction of two random ideas and just kept getting bigger.
The ideas are there, but I don't want to write the damn fic! I am mostly writing this as a form of literary exorcism: I am figuring that if I can just sort out all the random ideas in a coherent whole, maybe they'll stop piling the nifty over it and come back to our current projects (I cannot write ArmaPata or VeeHawkWorm/Daikenyako when my mind is busy figuring out semi-dark!Ken's relationship with Wormmon >.<)
Note: these ideas all came independently and their combination might or might not make any sense.
The first big difference has to do with the Digimental/Chosen match-ups. Iori gets Love and Purity, and Miyako gets Knowledge and *insert favorite translation for Jou's crest here*. This is interesting because while I figure them having no problems with Knowledge and Purity, Love and *insert favorite translation here* are trickier to master when they are switched around.
Personally, I want to write it with live!Hiroki, if only so I can give Iori some bratty moments (because let's face it: at nine, all kids have bratty moments XD).
Plot-wise, we have Chimeramon created much earlier in the series. However, Ken uses Piedmon, and not Devimon's data. this leads to an intelligent Chimeramon that quickly rebels à la BlackWarGreymon. When the Mega attack Ken and Wormmon, Wormmon evolves to Stingmon, but still ends up killed after buying his partner the time to flee.
Wormmon's death does snap Ken out of his Kaiser persona, but due to the boy's anger, does not manage to actually deactivate the Dark Spore. This leaves still a genius, but hell-bent on destroying Chimeramon, and he becomes a sort of loose cannon, a vigilante whose clashes with Chimeramon are just as destructive as his conquest was.
Ken perfects the Dark Spiral as he did in the original, but instead uses Wormmon to test it, mastering the evolution to perfect level easily. This version of the spiral also leaves more free will to the digimon, but as a counterpart to that effect and to the fact the Obelisks have been mostly disabled (both by Ken and Chimeramon's), it takes a lot more out of the Chosen.
In the later stage, Chimeramon uses data from the dark Tower to unleash the X-Antibody, his own brand of control. By reformatting partly some of the X-Digimon, he intends to collect DNA samples to recreate copies of the Chosens and sends doppelgangers of the Chosen Digimon with mission to rape the chosen and collect samples. Of course this messes up completely with the Chosen's head: Who can be trusted and who can't? And so on.
As far as jogress evolution goes, Daisuke and Miyako are the first to manage it, followed by Takeru and Iori in the later stages of the fight against Chimeramon (but in a manner more in follow with those showcased in the original 02). Ken and Hikari either jogress very late in order to defeat Chimeramon after the Dark Ocean episodes have drawn them closer or Ken activates the Crest of Kindness when he overcome the Dark Spore completely after realizing that while he has been heeding Wormmon much more than he did as the Kaiser, he has only used him for his own purposes, without truly caring.
Those are all that my sick, and complicated mind has thrown together. I do hope that with this written down for everybody to grab stuff from, my muses will come back to Cryptozoology and Songhai Diaries .
