Savers Movie

Dec 04, 2006 18:19

I just read someone's account of the Digimon Savers movie from their diary, and thought it might be interesting to you. Here is the source, and the cut has the entry translation, with my explanation in [] brackets.

I've returned!!!

Before the movie began, Hoshi-kun and Matsuno-san [the seiyuu for Masaru and Agumon], along with two people wearing Masaru and Agumon costumes, showed up on stage to greet everyone. [Other dairies say that Hanawa was also with them; he is the seiyuu for Argomon.]

It's the first time I've ever felt so excited just by seeing a costume. I thought I'd wet myself. The person wearing the Masaru costume understood him so well. Masaru could never stand still. He was always moving. He'd keep moving his head back and forth between the people who were talking, and waving his hands at the audience in a really strange way, and sometimes he'd put his hands behind his back to fix his jacket aaaaaaaah he was so cuuuuuuuuuute!!

Even when they were leaving the stage, Agumon was walking so slowly in front of him that he pushed him off. So cute.
It was really cute! Cuuuuuute!

SPOILERS BELOW

Just what you'd expect from 20 minutes.

The plot developed so, so FAST!! I didn't expect the "Wake up, Aniki!!" from the commercial to be the very first scene. Sleeping Beauty Masaru appeared right from the start.

To save Rhythm, who was being chased down, Agu, Gao, and Lalamon go on a huge rampage. Gaomon was strangely ugly looking in the beginning... but just when I thought that, his movements proved to be amazing. They were incredibly sexy. The part when he used the chair and stuff was particularly sexy. Put that together with Lalamon using her sausage nunchucks, and it almost felt like a Hong Kong movie, or more like a Jackie Ch○n movie.

I was surprised when Lalamon ate the sausages. Just when I was thinking, "What the... you... you eat meat??!" I was even more surprised when Gaomon asked her "Can you give me (a sausage) too?" It was very sexy.

Without knowing at all who Rhythm was, or what her relationship was with Argomon, I was contenting myself with saying "It's gotta be that" while Gaomon was navigating the ship heading towards Argomon. Gaomon can do anything, huh? I wonder if he remembered from watching Tohma. It was really cute seeing him playing around a bit with Agumon...

But then the Goblimon came after them, so Gaomon and Lalamon said "Leave this to me!" and turned around to stop them while Agu and Rhythm went ahead to Argomon.

To be honest, I have no idea why Hanawa is voicing him.

While I was distracted by that and listening to the conversation, apparently it was something about how humans polluted the environment so that was why that and this happened. Oh, now I get it!

Even though he was overwhelmed by Argomon, Agumon went "Aniki told me this! No matter what never give up and #$&(%&" (I forget the rest) and his feelings while thinking of Masaru let him set Argomon on fire. Since he's a plant, he burned well. Agumon won! ... but just when I thought so, he evolved. Well, when he's evolved, there's really nothing you can do to beat him. Just when Agumon was about to accept defeat, Masaru appeared on top of a very tall building and looking like BantyoLeomon with his arms folded. Eh, wait just a ... eh, since when?! WHY??! Without even allowing any time to be bewildered, Masaru laid the smackdown on Argomon. Stroooooooong.

But why did Masaru suddenly show up?

"Your courage lit a fire in my heart!"

Oh, now I get it!

Masaru's clothing design was roughly the same, just with different coloring. And he didn't have his hair tied back either. Ahiiiiiiiiiiiii he had no ponytaaaaaaaail because he just woke up?

Somehow, without the hairdo, he gave off a more mature ambience. Almost like he'd settled down. I wonder how soon we'll be able to see this in the series?

Taking in the power of both Masaru and Rhythm, Burst Mode ShineGreymon defeats Argomon and the matter is settled. Masaru watches over Rhythm and Agumon from behind with his arms folded again as the two reluctantly part. With an "Agumon, I love you!" Rhythm gives Agu a kiss. It was really cute.

But.

Tohma really didn't show up...

He only appeared, sleeping, in the first cut. Yoshino too. I guess there's nothing to be done about it since it's only 20 minutes, but it really was sad.
Also, enough with Hanawa! [I think he appears the most often as an extra in Savers, so you either love him or get sick of him. xD]

Savers played first, so while I was watching Pretty Cure for the next 50 minutes, I enjoyed myself as I kept making connections between Saki and Mai to Masaru and Tohma. Petty fights are awesome.

There's also pictures of the Masaru/Agu cosplayers here, with an entry embellishing that Rhythm is actually a Digimon. (owo; )
