Oh wow, ages since my last review. >_> My bad. Here's one more though! (thanks to someone who made me think of this, you know who you are ;D )
Gonna review another PS3 game again, because that's how I roll. Sony fanboy right hurrrr.
Let's see... ever think about the Apocalypse? Not like, meteor crashing into earth, massive volcano eruption, but the Christian Apocalypse. I do; it creeps me out, would rather not think about it. But to play it in a fictional(hopefully) game, then bring it on! You get to play through the end of the world and beyond in Darksiders.
So, here's the setting: life is normal on Earth until BLAM, then end of the world hits. No time for lols and omgs, every human is dead. Oh snap. But here's the thing... the Apocalypse wasn't supposed to happen just yet... Yeah. Someone purposely broke the seals and blew the trumpets, bringing an early end to our world. And who is everyone blaming it on? You. And guess who you are? War, 4th Rider of the Horseman of the Apocalypse. And so you set out to find out what is going on, battling demons, undead and even angels that stand in your way. Yay!
Story: Okay, so the story is pretty spot on. You're out so see who did this and why. And believe me, the story is longer than it seems to be. You really have no one on your side besides a little ghoul that pretty much keeps you chained, making you do his will. (no spoilers from me thx) It was interesting enough to get me to check it out. 8/10
Art/Graphics: When I first started this up, I was like "Ooh! Pretty!" It does have some nice graphics to it, and appreciatively, the graphics don't dumb down towards the end. The characters are pretty cool looking, cool designs, nice environments; it's good eyecandy. 9/10
Music: Well, to be honest, I don't remember the music, since I played this back around the beginning of the year. NA
Gameplay: I've heard many, MANY people compare this game to Legend of Zelda and God of War. I guess I could see why. You do a lot of dungeon and room exploring in this game, and you're... always hacking and slashing. :D But that's not a bad thing, there's enough variety in the game to keep you busy. Equippable items, chest discovering, neat powers and weapons. You have a lot of variety, plus, it's not that hard to play. Always a plus. 9/10
Personal Score: Well, I bought this game before I really knew much about it. I thought it sounded cool 6 months before it came out. I wasn't disappointed though. I had a pretty fun run with it. I'd suggest anyone who had a PS3 and doesn't like to limit themselves to one variety like RPGs, FPS, or sports game to check it out. Hey, Darksiders 2 next year! 9/10
