30 Days Meme (Bokurano) - Day 22
Aaaauugh, today's been a bit of a dead day. The fact that I slept in really late for...er, stuff and the fact that confirming school loans takes a lot more work than I thought. Another website to go to after this, but I'm just doing the meme fast.

Dung Beetle (real name possibly Shirou Machi)/Mayako Makishima
One day, I will talk about a canon couple that I ship. Today is not that day. Sadly, Shirou (because that will always be his name for me) and Mayako never met in canon. In fact, the incarnations that I love (manga and novel respectively) never were in the same universe. There is a different Dung Beetle for the novel and Mayako in the manga is...well, she's not the same girl -- so much that we only know she is the same girl through a throwaway line in the novel. (Mayako=Miku omfg what was my reaction). However, the two characters' personalities just fit. They bitch and snark and generally seem like horrible people....but in spite of all that, they both have good in them. A lot more than one might realize in a first read through -- or second read through. I admit roleplay again is the fault of this, but I don't regret loving it at all. The girls who play it out are fantastic at it and they make a couple with a large age difference, a couple where both sides have been quickly desensitized to sexual exploits but still long for an actual intimacy perhaps one of the most realistic ones I've ever read, be it canon or non-canon.
...That and they're just plain hot together. Seriously, look at that picture, that is SEXY.
