So, first order of business then the rest of this will be behind an lj-cut (THOUGH IT STILL ENCOURAGE YOU TO READ IT~):
I GOT MY GOD DAMN DRIVER'S LICENSE OMG OMG OMG, AT LAAAAAST!!!!
I hope I didn't burn out anyone's eyes with that. I think it's a rather nice collection of retina-killing goodness. Okay, so. After about three hours at the DMV (ohgod, first there was the missing insurance, then the expired car sticker, the smug bastard old guy behind us in line, everything was...), I spent 20 minutes on a road test, getting minimal points off and getting my driver's license three years after I was eligible to. That's okay. Because I actually GOT MY DRIVER'S LICENSE and it was something I wanted accomplished before I went to school. A month ago if you told me I'd go to get my driver's license and pass the road test, I would laugh you off the face of the Earth. But it actually happened. And I'm so very happy.
I went out for some last minute shopping with my mom when I realized I had a Hot Topic gift card. Sadly the anime and video game section has decreased, so there wasn't much I wanted (but I have to look into this Emily Strange thing, the t-shirts were cute), but I found a cool Harry Potter t-shirt, a very nice To Write Love On Her Arms t-shirt (know what I'm wearing when that day rolls around :) ) and, brace yourself, an Epic Mickey t-shirt. I need to buy that game. Why? Because my mom picked it out for me. She called me over, saying it was like the Sorcerer's Apprentice and she said it was really cool and I should get it. I hugged her in the store. xD I'll say again, my mom is amazing. Also while there, I got a cute black hat, a new lacy pair of arm-warmers, since my pair from Japan is dying (lol, I could wear the lace over them, that'd rock), and a believe-it-or-not choker! I think my stint as Arietta a few years ago gave me a thing for neck wear. My mom saw it, said it looked cute, and I tried it on. A few minutes later, I was wearing it out of the store. It feels so comfy having something around my neck, I loooove it. ;D At least it's not a dog collar this time so I can't be stared at at college. >_> Also among shopping today: Hair stuff. Now I can do more things with my hair, it'll be fun.
Last minute packing. And by "last minute" I mean "shove everything in because I've picked out what I'm taking, but not put it in my bag." All my geeky shirts are going with me. All of them. I'm taking a few band shirts, too. Super State 2009? Oh, hell yeah, that's my claim to fame, bitches. The big question right now is what game systems to take. Do X-Box games work on the 360? I wanna bring Psychonauts, but I don't know if it would work, and I don't wanna only have one game for one system. I know I'm bringing my 360 and my PS2. I may cave and drag my Wii along as well. God, three systems. That's okay, Ryan and I will be sharing the 360. I do expect an answer on the X-Box games question, though, anyone who has one!
Last but not least, I've written eleven pages of a new Degrassi fanfic, one that I had a particularly fun time with. Next up is a crackfic (Chrisie, you know which one ;D) and then I think I'll do another two drabbles for my Bokurano series. When I finish that I don't know what I'm going to do with the series, honestly. Probably dive right back into my long piece -- that I still have no title for -- though I still want to try some one-shots. The issue is now that I've got fanon so clearly set in my mind, it's difficult to write anything else. This isn't just my shipping stuff talking despite the fact that my non-canon ships are so freaking epic, aaahhh, I won't gush about them here, I'll make a shipping entry one day, I swear, it's all the stuff regarding the Game, all the stuff regarding the true nature of it, all the stuff regarding certain characters not actually dying and all the stuff about alternate character interpretation -- it's hard to sort out. Which is why I may transition over to fanvids after this. I have a particularly interesting idea if I can ever get good enough with masking and stuff to create something that looks like an AU for the series, I'll do some RP videos. After finishing the Bokurano drabbles, though, I'll probably shift back to Degrassi -- and yes, I'll write a darker piece for that series eventually, but not right after Bokurano. I'll likely do the next chapter of the set that I wrote my eleven page story for. Or maybe I'll just make that one a one-shot and do the other as a companion piece. It's kind of nerve-wracking, since I'm technically writing in the future of the series and in a few months everything I write will become AU/non-canon. But that's not bad, since everyone is focusing on the here-and-now, what happens right after the finale. We need a little variety, why not jump into a possible second half of the school year that doesn't have to do with the drama? Plus, I just like writing happy stuff for this show. It's fun.
PS: Chrisie, I caved and gave you a tag.
And with that, more packing. Can you believe it? Tomorrow's the day. College awaits.
