Spring is here!
Spring is here! Today the sandals came out. Never again shall my feet be seen in shoes again until the snow comes or Nicolette bugs me to look nice at work.
Easter was good. I went to Nicolette's and met her whole family. It's slightly scary how much her house feels like home. I mean, Nicolette is my friend, not my mom, nor does she give off maternal vibes (that often) but she's such a close comfortable friend it's great. And Kevin, her boyfriend, definitly acts like my father. But I think he misses his daughter, who is with her mom on the MN/WI border somewhere. So he projects all his paternal instincts on me, but with the added twist of getting drunk with me, so that's nice too. I could live there. It's going to hurt to leave here.
But now it's almost April. It's insane and painful to look at all I have to do, and how I have so little time. Let's not think about it. I cried walking home today, barefoot in the beautiful sun and frisbee's flying all around me and music blaring from open windows and the frat boys at their grills. I think it was the above-mentioned hell month I am about to enter, and the fact that it will never be the first nice day of spring again in Beloit.
Well, before I wax sentimental too much.. I have a tea party to prepare for and a symposium paper to edit.
