Grr where have I seen the "they have saved teh universe but they can never remember their heroism" ending used prominently before? Can't remember if it was TV, film, comic.... anyone?
Poor old Donna. Hearing her on the phone, I thought she was accidentally going to slip in some sort of time-dilation flux capacitor jargon whilst gossiping to her mate about cellulite or whatever, to show a glimmer of hope for her future? Sadface.
I've come to the conclusion that I just don't like Rose now that she's meant to have buggered off. She's just irritating. She has her own pet Doctor now, though, so hopefully we'll never see her again.
I don't want Martha and Mickey in Torchywood, I want new characters to start off hating and eventually love. I'm hoping Jack'll just have his Wicked Jacky Way with them and send them off to Unit or something.
I loved it, muchly, until that stupid bit on the beach. And I'm disappointed that Donna doesn't get a happy ending; not fair, Uncle Rusty, not kind. I want her to have her stuttery mans.
Cribbins, though, continues to be the best thing ever. I want him to be the next companion. Or Eddie Izzard. That'd do. (Srsly, though, we're due a boy companion, right?)
I loved the bit on the beach - a brilliant bit of writing and a lovely way to bring the four years of new Who full circle. And it was hardly neat: everyone there looked like they'd got the shit end of the stick despite having all their wishes granted.
I liked the admission that a lot of what Rose likes about the Doctor is that he is escape. Also the human one will spend the rest of his life going "This reminds me of how they do things on Golginchfram! We could go... oh"
True, and brilliant. Although given he's blatantly going to end up working for alter-Torchwood in a more advanced parallel, it's not like he's going to be stacking shelves.

purple_pen described it as "epic-yet-strangely-forgettable" which I think is a good summary.
