I'm working 2nd shift now. Aparently October-January is peak coupon season, so we are on mandatory overtime. I work 4:45pm-3:15am. So for my 3rd week out of 1st shift training, I'm pretty well adjusted.
My favorite part about my job are my coworkers: its enjoyable to have decent creative coworkers who have senses of humor and understand all my esoteric, geeky jokes. Whats scary is that they have started identifying my impersonation voices- voices that even I had forgotten where they came from. (Ace Ventura and Jean-Luc Picard, so far.) And when I was told "You look like Lo-Bot" when I was wearing my headphones, it doesn't get any better then that.
The one thing that sucks is that if I'm getting hungry, typing up a 3 panel menu flyer, which are almost always for a gourmet pizza place, is torture. Garlic Knots, Mozzarella and Cheddar Cheese, Primavera, Proscuitto, Supreme Roasted Garlic Bar-B-Que Chicken Pizza, Deep Dish Silician Pizza with Marinara sauce- try typing these things out when you are hungry- you'll be trying to buy pizza later that night. The same goes for Chinese Restaurant flyers. Tire flyers, at least don't make you want to go out and buy new tires.
I am getting better at spelling all these somewhat exotic words.
And I saw an ad with Huey Lewis (From Huey Lewis and the News) on it. He was endorsing hearing Aids. Since he was in one of my favorite bands, I'm sold. If my hearing ever starts to go, you're damn straight that I'm going with whichever brand he is endorsing.
And I've been learning a lot of things about dreamweaver, maya, photography, voice overs, and animation when I have the time. I am hoping to update my site soon with some great stuff.
Oh and I bought a used, water damaged drafting table from a church sale for $4. Now I have to make a place to set it up...
