- urban Beijing clothing actually imported from Hong Kong/Shanghai/Taiwan
- haircut making me look like a member of F-4 for a short amount of time
- speaking Chinese
- "Ai ya!"

- increased haggling skills
- cellphone cover complete with photobooth photos
- pens and pencils that look like they belong in a "Cutty Girls" box, as well as cartooned notebooks
- revamped affinity for sunflower seeds
- greater tolerance for spices/spicy food
- tea at restaurants
- bootleg DVDs
