Because it was requested--

A photo update!

My dorm. One of my roommates' bed. Can you sense the Asian-ness of it all?

My dorm  is one of the bigger ones. So more beds and more people. I live in one of the nook areas. This picture was taken from my bed (a top bunk) and is a partial view of the big room where everyone gathers.

The photo is kind of blurry. This is forget-her-last-name Hua and Wang Lu Fen. That's Hua's bed. I work with Fen. She's one of the cashiers. She has this funny way of talking where she pronounces words with a countryside drawl. Half of her clothes are white. She did the peace sign willingly. I did not prompt her to do that in any way.

This photo is rull blurry. The girl with the peace sign is Wei Wei. Again, I did not ask her to do that.

This is Chen Song. One of the bellhops. He's probably the tallest bellhop there. And again, I did not ask him to do that.

This is Zhang Yu Mei. She is one of the cashiers. She's very cute. Not in a Zhang Yu kind of way, but in a silly-goofy kind of way. She has the best clothes. She's only 18, which is weird because I thought she was at least 20. The other night, we went waltzing in the university's courtyard. Neither of us know how to waltz. Yu Mei is probably one of the prettiest girls I have ever met but she wouldn't let me take a picture of her head on. She's kind of delusional; she thinks she needs to lose weight.
She's 113.

Zhang Lei and Wang Hui. I definitely thought they were dating. But now I'm not that sure. They act like they are but Wang Hui said one of the servers at the bar is his wife/girlfriend. I'm think she's just making shit up. Zhang Lei is from HeBei and has a pretty strong accent. Wang Hui likes to tease me but I reciprocate. She used to call me "Watermelon Girl" because I like to eat watermelon for lunch/dinner and I taught her how to say the word. Now she calls me "Princess" because she looked it up. I don't respond to that. She whines. I like her because she's funny, silly, and makes fun of everybody.

Zhang Lei doesn't know how to take nonblurry pictures. I have mosquito bites on my face. Our uniform: kind of lame, but not as lame as it could be.

This is Gao Yu. I am in love with him. But I need to get over that. He's ridiculously skinny. His waist is like mine. Or smaller. He weighs 132 lbs. He smokes like a train engine. He doens't eat much--at least, not at work. He drinks Coke a lot. His English is pretty good and he speaks some Japanese. I think he looks Japanese. He seems to know everything there is to know. Sometimes I'll say things to myself in English and he'll look the words up. But I don't think he knows I know that.
I need to get over him.

I'll take more pictures and post them on facebook. Only one or two (or three) facebook albums for this summer could do it justice.
I can't believe I'm only working for 2 more weeks. I just got here and it's half over. I thought I was going to be working for 5 weeks but I'm not. Just 4. We were talking to Mom online this morning (your last night) and planning all the trips we're taking when she, my sister, and my brother get here in August. It's so packed and planned, down to the last minute. I don't know if I'll get a chance to visit my coworkers and dormmates before I go back home. And it's weird to think about because they'll probably forget me within a month, and I'll probably forget them too.
