*Megan* A Cat Named Esmeocks

May 04, 2005 14:42

I temporarily adopted a stray cat last night.

She was just sitting outside under the staircase yowling, and I was just sitting inside on the computer. And then she came inside and joy abounded.

I fed her a ton of food too. 8 ounces of chicken and four slices of cheese. Then we played for about an hour, and I petted her for an hour, and then I went to sleep and she laid down and purred for a very long time. It kinda rocked.

She stayed here about six hours.

Dominique (who I woke up with exclamations that "We have a cat!") and I decided she's a new stray. Not feral yet, but definitely on her own a few days already. Hence the mild-starvation. She was declawed too, so no telling how successful she'll be in the future catching her own food. Stupid people who declaw cats.

She was somewhat attention starved too, hence the hours of petting and playing.

I'm curious about whether she'll come back. But just in case, I'm going to buy some canned cat food.

UPDATE

She's returned for the third time tonight. If she wasn't a biter, my parents would be taking her in until I move out of this absolutely-no-pets housing. We can't even have fish here. Fish. I think a large cat is treading the ice.
