Well, since I'm not writing any of my papers, not studying Spanish, and not filling out the internship application that's due Tuesday, I might as well really not do them.
So: what the hell is up with the snow today? It has some godddamn nerve snowing in April. It has no right--no right. Bastard snow. What pretention. Do it again, snow, and I'll kill you. And your little dog too.
So: has anybody been to/lived in Portland, Oregon? I'm thinking about going there; I'm not sure why. I think I read, like, one article that said it was nice and now I want to go. No, sorry, I don't know what's wrong with me.

And: I've been devouring the Sugar Sugar Rune anime since the eighth volume doesn't come out until September. Grr. Why you take so long, Del Rey? Do you need help? I'd be glad to scan pages in all high-res-like, do speech bubble cleanup, massage the temples of weary translators, maybe kick you a little.
I Am Pleased With
*The quality
*The subs
*The voice actors (I thought Vanilla would get the highest-pitched voice possible, given her shy and adorably clumsy character. Being meek and mild in Japanese society seems to call for the vocal frequency of...what? A five-year-old girl? A kitten's mewing? That tinny piercing sound the TV makes when someone thinks it's off, but really they left it on VCR/DVD standby? Anyway, her voice was great--still shy and hesitant, but not eardrum rupturing.)
I Am Not Pleased With
*Their total skippage of magic wand development
*The Sailor-Moon-esque treatment of the spell-casting scenes (Was the manga like that? Uh, noooo.)(I still like it, though. >.< It's just an annoying anime fallback when they don't want to take the time to draw each unique scene. Time to pull a pink heart of new love from a bespectacled boy's chest? Time to fill the living room with bubbles? Cue prepared "spell scene" animation. Bah.)
*That dumb Lipstick of Truth episode. That was sooo not what the lipstick was for. Haha :D And how freakin' likely is it that people (female and male) will hold still for you to smear pink gloss all over their mouths?
I've watched seven of 31 episodes so far...actually, I think it's still ongoing in Japan. I'll have to check. But it's definitely worth watching. I remember seeing the first manga volume out on shelves and thinking that I wouldn't like the series, despite my attraction to the art style. But it's been one of my favorites from the genre. ♥

Hmm: I'm hoping to finishing a fanart to meet an April 30th deadline. When Ouran High School Host Club volume 10 finally appeared, I read it in about 15 minutes and then took in the announcement at the back. Like the Fruits Basket manga, they've decided to publish fanart and whatnot as an extra in future volumes. For the eleventh volume, the cutoff is the above date. Heheh, I think it would be kinda cool to be published in one of my favorite series. Yeah?
I'll post my picture on dieU when it's done. ♥
Finally: has anyone heard of the
Otaku Omaha Con that's being held in June? I get the impression that there was one last year, but I would've thought I'd've heard of it. Hm.
Anyway, I saw it advertised in
PiQ magazine (which is pretty awesome, btw) and decided to check it out. The web site doesn't tell you much...I found random photos from the event, but otherwise there isn't much to go on. I was thinking about going and forcibly taking people with me, but if it's going to be lame, I'd rather gear and save up for a road trip to a bigger, better anime convention. I wanna go somewhere with a kickass convention, art and shopping scene...somewhere nice, *sigh*, somewhere not here.
