*Megan* Things Prospective Renters Don't Want to See

So today I went apartment hunting through Dundee. I'm trying to find a place by March, so it's getting a little desperate, but I can proudly say I do still have some standards.

I happend to venture a little East of the section of Dundee I'm aiming for, and drove through a police stand-off. Apparently some guy with a gun was holed up in one of the houses, threatening things/people. I got stuck inside the police blockade, and got to see the exact moment when all the officers began running door to door.

What fun.

I think maybe I will not move to that area.

On a similar but less exciting note, another complex, further west, that I looked at today also had police activity. I have decided that I have enough time left that I can just rule those out.

Does anyone know anyone who's lived in Tudor Heights out near 108th and Maple? The area looks nice and the apartments fit all my criteria, but the online reviews are awful. They tend to be bad, but the ones for this complex were particularly horrible.

I took a friend over there for a second opinion, and she knows the area better. There is a section of low-income housing that's close to one side of the complex, so some of the specifics of the reviews seem more plausible, but I don't know.

Maybe I will just abandon all my belongings and immigrate.
