In the name of Doke, I will punish you! *does hand pose* Well, that comes later. Right now I want to talk about the Korean band,
Nell.
Their song
Down (please try n.n) was the first I had heard of them; it was included in a sort Korean music sampler someone in some community (LOL) had put together. I loved it immediately, it was so achingly gorgeous. Plus, Seo Taiji essentially endorsed the band, having coproduced a song with them and offering a place under his label. They've moved on to another label now, but c'mon--Seo Taiji.
The singer's voice is beautiful, very striking. Sooo I went on a cyber hunt for more (MOAAAR!) and it wasn't long before I could clutch three albums to my heaving bosom. I recently got my hands on another one, called Walk Through Me, which is excellent as well. I think the singer's rather cute (the one with the glasses), so when I heard this song,
자해 (Jahae), off of that album, I was like...oh, really, Kim Jong-wan. Zat'so. Hmmmheheheh. You have my permission.
Listen to the English parts and tell me what you think he's saying. :D
I finally got around to looking up the lyrics, just to confirm my happiness, and alas. If you guys aren't hearing what I'm hearing, then you're probably all WTF-ing, but...if not: compare your ears to the eyes
here.
Nell 09 자해 (Jahae)
I am crying and falling
I am torturing myself
I am crying and falling
I am torturing myself
I am crying and falling
I an torturing myself
I am crying la
I am torturing la
~
Torturing not touching, GAH! Damn.

Bishojo Senshi Sailor Moon!
I'm hopelessly addicted to this live-action show. I saw pictures of the actresses before the first episode and I knew then that I was going to love it. Each of the Sailors have their special Make-Up! sequences and of course power moves--and it never gets old.
The actress who plays the 14-year-old Sailor Moon is appropriately annoying, LOL, but I really am being sucked into her romance with Mamoru Chiba a.k.a. Tuxedo Mask. He's pretty smokin'. So that's nice. :D
The villains and their youma are hilarious. Costuming is great, special effects...heh heh. Oh man. If any of you want direction to the downloads, then please shout out. We can squeal together.
I'm trying to decide if I want to decide whether I have a favorite. I kind of favor Sailor Mars (red), but then Sailor Jupiter (green) is cool. Especially with the Japanese pronunciation: "Joop-ter Powah! Flaaaw-wah Hurr-cane!" >.< So cool!
Everyone speak English with a Japanese accent. Right now.

I've recently gotten into the manga Sugar Sugar Rune, a sweet gothy story about two pre-adolescent witches, Chocolat and Vanilla (I know--blurrrgh) who are both candidates to be queen of the Magical World. In order to prove their worth, they must live in the human world for a while and see who can collect the most human hearts--LOL, as in, crystallized manifestations of human emotions. Not the squishy internal organ heart.
Orange crystal hearts represent early crush feelings and so aren't worth as much as the pink, new love hearts, or the deep red, true love hearts. Obviously they'll be getting most of their hearts from guys, and I wouldn't rule the other persuasion out, but given the manga's age range, who knows...it is manga, LOL.
Chocolat only manages yellow hearts her first few weeks because she scares the crap out of human boys. As their mentor, rock star Rockin' Robin (I KNOW--BLURRRGH) says, hearts the "color of pee."
The hearts are traded in for ecure, the currency of the Magical World. It's funny how easily Rockin' Robin (urr..guh) makes a living. One concert and he's raked in hundreds and hundreds of orange and pink hearts.
So there's the conflict between Chocolat and Vanilla, who are otherwise friends, as they contest for the throne. Then there's their personal struggle, as they must avoid falling in love with a human at all costs or DIE, hahaha. And with the second volume, a new problem: an "Ogre"--a Magical outcast who survives on black hearts, feelings of hate and jealousy--reveals himself to be pursuing the two candidates...
I like this series. I love the artwork. Yup.

I'm beginning to think that I will wither and die without a computer. And it goes without saying: the Internet. Megan, can you hear me now? Seriously, I'm cackling like a mad person.
Meh heheheheheh. ^O^
I am swimming in the tingly sea of scanlations...Megan, you and I should have a download night to compare links. But maybe not read them together because that would be weird. Let's just have a Download While Watching Movies and Eating Good Food and Gluing Stuff on Stuff Night. Okay? LOL. Fo really reals.
I was reading for Sociolinguistics and picked up a new favorite insult: yo mamma so bowlegged, she looks like the bite out of a donut. I'm gonna use that all the time, so prepare yourselves people. >:D
I was also reading the play Juno and The Paycock for my 20th Century Lit class tomorrow night and I derived amusement mainly from the characters' Irish dialect. They pronounced "ask" like "ass," so they were saying things like "Now if you ass me, Ay'd say..." and "I hate assin' him for anything."
Oh! And they'd say "buddy" like "butty." Behold:
"He's a butty o' yours, isn't he?"
"Yeah, he's an oul butty o' mine."
Heh.
Also, I watched the movie The Brave Little Toaster again last week because it came in on DVD at the library. *tear* Memories. I had forgotten how catchy the songs were, LOL.
Remember the part where the appliances were saved from the bog by a spare parts shop owner? And the store's freaky Frankenstein-ish appliances were singing it's like a movieee it's like a moviee shooww? :D Ugh, and I hate frickin' hate that clown dream the Toaster has early on, when they're still in the cabin.
Crap. I shouldn't have brought it back already. I wanna watch it again. But I still do have The Brave Little Toaster Goes To Mars and The Brave Little Toaster To The Rescue. I don't remember watching either of those...I remember holding the Mars one in my hands once, though. I looked at it, but I never saw it? LOL. *shrug*
I really hated that blanket. I still want to stab it in its face turny-knob.
The radio was annoying, too.
So...so was the toaster, actually.
OMG, they were all annoying.
