*Crystalline* What? There Are Other Countries?
Anthropology today was hilarious. Hilarious.
We all had to bring to class 60-cent ('Go Charlotte, it's your bir'...or not) unlabelled maps of Europe. Predictably, we were to identify the several rivers, seas, mountain ranges, and countries we would be studying.
The former three are of course more difficult. Marmara Sea? Volga River? Duuuh. Vaguely familiar, but indistinguishable from the blue veiny lines and blobs. But countries? I couldn't tell you where Moldova is offhand, but some people:
person Uh, is that Germany? *points to map*
professor ...That's Sweden.
person Oh. Uhmm...there? *points*
professor Romania.
And again:
person Where's Russia?
professor ... *points*
person Uhhh...where?
LMAO.
Best class ever. I have never been more ashamed of American education. Come on--over twelve years of schooling and to most the globe is giant blank?
