Game update... there isn't one. Actually I haven't touched Game Maker at all. But if I'm going to be serious about this I'll need to. This also probably means cutting back on online play pretend entirely, among other things.

I've actually been helping a guy with bugtesting and general QA for a Mega Man fangame, Mega Man Revolution, which has been over ten years in the making across a few different iterations, so I can kind of sympathize with his drive to get it done. Unlike most fangames, he's been releasing increment by increment. He has the eight Master stages done.

I've given him suggestions for adjusting the balance of the various weapons. My lack of foresight and a number of attributes of it that were previously unable to be observed accidentally turned a formerly useless novelty into the stuff of legends. (It will be nerfed very soon.)

Anyway, if you guys want to play with it, look here: http://megamanrevolution.com/

I think it's a pretty good romp in its current state. You have a choice between playing as Mega Man (with his fifth Game Boy game's Mega Arm) or Bass (handled in Mega Man & Bass style). On top of the eight Master weapons, each character also has eight secondary weapons unique to them - some of which are very interesting and fun!

You might be thinking this is all part of a clever ploy to curry favor to learn a few tricks, but nope, he's using Multimedia Fusion 2 - a different engine from what I'm thinking of learning. I've decided to go along for the ride anyway, because his only other feedback seems to come from people who do not speak nor understand much English.

One day Capcom will probably have to step up and enforce its IP if it's really looking to make the brand visible again, but for now, while the coast's clear, this is a good 2D Mega Man fix.
