you gotta be kidding me.

UGH.

So, I've had severe allergies my entire life. We're talking two allergy shots, every or every other week growing up. My mom thought that any time I've been over to her house recently (ie last year), I was high... No, it was her golden retriever goobering all over me, and the fact that I'd have to take at least one, if not two, benydryl.

Well, they've been really bad lately. REALLY bad. And it'll be a two days of hell, three days of relief, lather rinse repeat type thing.

And I'm thinking to myself, they weren't this bad last year, were they?

.......I was away for most of allergy season. No wonder why I can't remember.

The most frustrating part is everyone has a 'suggestion'. It's like a broken record, it's the same damn suggestions every time. Go wash your hands, have you tried this pill, you should snort water, ask your dad to smoke outside (that's my personal fave, that doesn't happen unless i'm super super sick with bronchitis). Dad's biggest one is go wash your face and hands. I've been doing that every hour, on the hour. My skin is starting to get fucked up from this. Everyone else has suggestions on meds or remedies, and if one more person tells me to try allegra or claritin, I'm gonna scream. THEY DON'T WORK ANYMORE.

The majority of over the counter allergy medication, save Benydryl, I've managed to build up an immunity to it. Claritin hasn't worked for me since I was 11, Allegra hasn't worked since I was 18. I built up a fairly decent immunity when I had cats, but living with a smoker who has tons of flowers outside is really getting to me. Alavert kinda works, but it's expensive.

It's spread to my books, even. I've got some sort of pollen or dust I managed to get in my math book, and I can handle studying in hour and a half increments. Luckily, they're rentals, and go back in less than a month.

I'm just so sick and tired of being cooped up in my room with the door closed to keep smoke out, and not being able to go outside for more than 15 minutes at a time unless it's night and we get frost. I can't wear my contacts, cuz I'll scratch my eye from rubbing, and it's gotten to the point where I have to braid my hair to get my bangs from touching my nose - just that little TOUCH is setting my sniffles off today.

The last time they were this bad (year wise), I'm pretty sure it was stuff I was putting up my nose causing it.

I'm about to go to my last resort - nasal spray. I hate it, but if it works, it works.

If anyone has some NON CHEMICAL BASED suggestions, I'd love to hear it. I'm tired of being doped up on meds, though, and I've tried 99% of what's out there (non prescription), and I'm trying to live a healthier lifestyle so I was thinking maybe going the homeopathic route would help. Can't go the prescription route right now - I can barely afford the $150 in meds I have now, let alone get more ADD meds :( It's super lame, I hate it.

OK. I need to go braid my hair (the only part I don't mind, since I look super cute) and go write a paper that is now going to be late because I had to take meds that knocked me out for 5 of the 6 hours that I'd put aside to write said paper. Pissed!Meg is pissed.

(at least if I get into a 4 year school, i can go to student health and get reduced rates on shots. i think it's gonna come to that)

fml, someone shoot me now, health, irl
