An interesting turn of events....

So, today was the first day I rode in with Autumn aka carpool girl.

At first, I was kind of wary, since she asked for a LOT of money for gas, but I figured eh, I gotta get there *somehow*.

Then, she ended up running super late. This especially made me not so happy.

However, when she got here, she popped in and said hi to my dad (then declared he was 'super sweet'), and I ended up driving us there (she's got some unpaid tickets, so I drove there, she drove back). She's got a Pontiac Grand Prix, and let me tell you, that thing is *fun*. However, I was (relatively) good and drove smoothly - she was impressed. I also showed her a *much* shorter way to get to work.

Anyways, we're sorta chatting while we're driving about basically anything and everything, and DING DING DING turns out she likes NCIS!!!! She's just getting into the show, though, so I'm gonna have to loan her my season 1 dvds (since i'm done rewatching them!). She really doesn't know the characters, and I kinda spoiled the whole Twilight thing for her (ooops!), but she really loves Abby! I mentioned I was thinking of dressing up as her for halloween, and she was all OMG I'LL HELP YOU DYE YOUR HAIR BLACK! Um, thank you, but I'll be going with a wig.... How are you at braiding pigtails, though? She laughed.

Basically, we're two peas in a pod, which is really awesome. She's got her CCW (carrying a concealed weapons permit), and it turns out we have the SAME BERSA .380. Well, it's basically the same model, save for she's got a Thunder (which is assembled in argentina) and I've got a Firestorm (assembled in one of the carolinas). Seriously, though, how WEIRD is that???

She's really straightforward and honest, which I really like. She doesn't drink anymore (she used to drink WAAAY too much and got tired of always getting sick and hungover, so she quit), and yeah she's got some issues (who doesn't?), but she's actively working to take care of them, which is something that I really respect because I know how hard it is - plus, she was completely up front and honest about it. I told her if she ever wanted moral support I'd be there, and she said thank you and gave me a very genuine smile.

At work, ended up having a crappy night, and when I apologized and said I didn't think I had enough for what she said for gas, she was all, "Hey, nbd! You had a bad night, can you grab valet? I'm sure next time you'll do better, but really it's not a problem. We're all good!" Like I mentioned, she's a money maker, so I was all "hey at least you did good!" and she kinda shrugged, was very nonchalant about it since she knew I didn't do well. I mentioned that that was part of why i prefer to get to work earlier - that way, i have time to sort of settle into my groove, and she apologized for running late (she had a ton of stuff to take care of). Jokingly, I suggested I could always text her around 4 and tell her to start getting ready, and she replied, "OMG! That'd be great, if you don't mind!" Apparently, she mentioned to her fiance that I prefer to get there on time, and he was in full support of it, lol.

When we got back into Flint, she pointed out where she lives, and yep! It's like, 3, 4 miles away tops. So crazy!

So even though I had a pretty crappy night, now I'm in a really good mood cuz I have a new buddy that's a coworker AND lives up here, plus we're both very positive people and I can already tell that this'll be a good thing for me; I tend to drink less when I'm with someone that doesn't drink, and I tend to be more motivated when I'm with someone who busts ass. So really, it's a win win all around. Plus, that drive gets pretty lonely sometimes.... lolol not anymore though!

whee!, irl
