Just got back from a great birthday lunch at Kabuki Sushi with Teaa, Michael, and Whitney. (Thanks, Michael, for picking up my tab!)
In my previous haste to fire off a blanket thank-you to my party guests, I forgot to mention what a great weekend I had.
Friday night, I went out with
teaa and
hobohemian to a one-woman show performed by
Eliza Schneider. The way she inhabited various characters (male and female) was incredible and it was a phenomenal show. Too bad it was closing night or I'd recommend you guys go. Afterwards, Eliza invited everyone in the audience over to her friend Pandora's apartment and we went over for a little while and had a good time. In my more tired, hermit-y moments, I often want to just stay at home and cuddle, but I'm really glad that Teaa convinced me to go.
Saturday, I had a party over at
mmorena and
pzonivy's place. Before we left, Teaa gave me a great birthday present -- a box of See's candy with some "special coupons" inserted underneath the chocolates. That's a gift that just keeps on giving, my friends. Anyway, it was a good low-key party and we finally left around 1AM or so. The next morning, my girl got up early and made pecan pancakes with scrambled eggs & toast. Yum! Then, we went out to go see "Shaun of the Dead" (funny and gross) and then hopped into "The Forgotten" (OK, but with a few real scares). Afterwards, we rushed over to Hollywood so that she could take me out to dinner at Angelini's. Excellent food and we got a lot of it for free. Then, it was home for some cuddling, Buffy-watching, and bed.
Today's my actual birthday and I'm scheduled for a massage after work from my baby. All in all, a perfect weekend and my best birthday in recent memory. Teaa asked me what I did the last couple of years and I couldn't even remember. And not in a good "I was so drunk, I don't remember" way. This girl has completely changed my life for the better and I can't even form the sufficient words to tell you how happy I am about it.
