Crazy cleaning

This weekend was insane. No, scratch that, Sunday was insane. Saturday I slept and celebrated my baby sister's birthday. She turned 19. We went to RHPS for old times sake, and it was okay. Too many under-dressed people though. And I'm not a fan of the sexually charged atmosphere. Ick. Then I went home and talked to Stew on the phone until nearly 6 am. I woke up Sunday at noon. BLech. I got some new bookcases and built one of them for the TV room. Even with the new book case, the old one is still over flowing. I spent more than 7 hours yesterday thoroughly cleaning the TV room and behind our bar. So disguesting. There are places in there that haven't been cleaned/dusted/mopped since my high school graduation party. Yes, I'm actually serious. By 10 last night I hadn't finished with 1/2 of my cleaning, and the TV room still isn't finished. Luckily, it is mostly stuff I can't deal with- mail that hasn't been sorted in years, the kind of stuff that my parents need to do but probably won't.

"Karen, why the cleaning frenzy?" you may ask. Stew is coming on Friday. His parents are driving him to Cincy, and he's staying for two weeks. This means that there is a good chance that his parents may actually see inside my house. My house gets a surface cleaning once a week, but it hasn't been really cleaned in years. Years. No one sorts mail; it just gets put into semi-neat stacks that keep growing until we move them into a stack somewhere else. It's embarassing. So we have 4 days to fix it. Yikes.

I want his parents to be impressed, not scared away.
