my brother asked kiersten to marry him, and she said yes. how awesome. he took her back to the washington monument at night when it was all lit up. awww
wahsington was pretty fun. VERY hott. we went to the lincoln memorial, the washington memorial, the library of congress, the capital building, the house of representatives, and the senate. while being there we sat in the little room where cnn and cspan are always showing the debates and what have you. that was cool. i never realized how HUGE those buildings were. we went to the whitehouse..which i thought would have been bigger..still big, but not as big as i thought it was. theeeeeen we went swimming as well. i was thankful for that!
ahh the hotel we stayed at was BEAUTIFUL (military discount) the whole place was done in marble floors and gold, and crystal. i felt SO out of place..were walking through and theres these people in business suites. some of the people were talking about the shirts alone costing $200. there was a huge ballroom and cafe, and a mall inside of it..and they take great care of you. the conceirge (spelling?) told us a lot of very important political people stay there when they go to dc...and they hold important banquets, sometimes presidential. i was flipping shit.
and we also went to arlington national cemetary..went to the tomb of the unknown soldier and watched the changing of the guards. AMAZING STUFF. the one guy was telling us that they get severely severely punished if they make a mistake because its their job to know the counts and movements, and what to say and all. then we went to kenedys grave...i had no idea the cemetary was SO big!. it was just amazing. the funny thing is the whole time we were down there people were picking john and i out left and right asking if were in the military..people down there just know i guess..we werent even wearing anything that said army...but anyway..this guy does on to tell us how we can be burried there when we die. ha it was just a little off.
and i got to talk to my dearest toby yet again<3
there were times when i was a little down...frank was suppose to be on that trip with us, and there was a lot of things that i saw that reminded me of him. but i survived.
