I hate not being able to post on here when ever I feel like and I haven't been working sundays much recently so I can't post at work as often either. Pheh!
Enough of the whine now onto the good stuff.
The brown high collared jacket from Ms. Rachel Fisher's Play Clothes BFA exhibit at the Appalachian Center for Craft belongs to me. YAY! I convinced my parents to get it for me for my birthday... which is in a month and besides the point. Rachel was selling her work for a steal. The jacket was only $70. I bought her apron bustle which is on the other form hiding under the jacket and another apron for $20. I amrally happy to just own Rachels work which is beautiful.
Here is a shot of the back of the jacket I bought.
I have been currently reading a delightful history of Heavy Metal that my brother got me.
Nathan is coming to visit me in 24 days. I can't wait. I am in the works to get it so I can return to VA with him for a week.
I went to Hobby Lobby this past week and bought the nessacary supplies for my new project for fibers as well as several patterns. All the Mcall patterns were on sale for $1.99. Which ment I just got all the ones that I liked in my size since for the cost of 2 full price I'd be getting like 10. Most of them were costume patterns. Which doesn't really matter to me since I think alot of the stuff can be altered slightly or done in the right fabrics and look modern and wearable. I got some Civil War era Patterns things like that. The jackets woulg look great with jeans in my opinion.
I am going to try to get better at sewing this summer and get over my intimidation from patterns. They are intimidating but once you sit down and figure it out its all ok. Still my heart definatly picks up every time I open a pattern and start laying it out to cut the fabric.
I am praying that I can make it through the next week. Its going to be hellah busy starting today. I agreed to go to Goth Night with some friends whom I don't get to go out with much. In the morning I am going to get a tooth filled for preventative matters after which I drive back to school (40 minutes) attend class, drop off my cd so that joe can cover for me, cut the next class and go to Andrew Bird with Merideth.
Joe will do my radio show. Come home sleep a little. Cut out fabric peices for mock up of project, make mock up. If that goes well cut out fabric for final. Sleep. Wake up work then go to class.
Its really not as busy as I thought its just the driving that is going to be hard. an hour to nashville and back. an hour to the dentist and back. so on and so forth. It'll be good though. I need to get out of my routine.
time to close out here at work
