Convention
Convention was really fun. Here's what we did:
Thurs: We drove 3 hours to Orlando. And I found out that mel sniffed hampster butts. Then we had to go to a meeting that seemed like it lasted forever. And then we went to a dance. It was alot of fun. There were these one boys who had a plastic camel, with no legs, wearing a Key Club shirt and a tie. I thought it was halarious, it was so random. Later I found out that the camel was there Key Club mascot, and last year they took it with them everywhere...like the meetings, dances, parties, and everywhere! So Miami broke into their room and stole it. They were talking about doing it again this year, but they didnt. Would've been funny.
Fri: more meetings, workshops ( which are like classes, you pick 3 and go to them... but you can be late and leave early) me and mel went to a speaker who used sign language to teach use messages, a public speaking class, and a dance class. The dance class was alot of fun. Me and mel learned Switch, 1-2-Step, and the mississippi slide.
Sat: MORE MEETINGS!, pool party which was canceled because of rain, and the hotel managger would'nt let the DJ play ANY black music. So it sucked. Then we had a fancy dinner, we shared tears, and they turned the lights off and lite candles (which was so awsome and had alot of meaning.)and then a farwell dance, which wasnt as good as the first one.
Today: we woke up at about 9, and rushed out the door for breakfast. Then we checked out at 11, and drove back home. We were all anxious to just get home. And I think me and mel were annoying on the ride back. We stuck our pin wheels in the air conditioning and said whos was going faster, and then fought with them, and prettended to be gorrilas while listening to bob marley.
Matt and alex were with Karen when she came to pick us up. I was really surprised, and so happy. I missed them, and my thoughts coming home were that I just wanted to see my friends and family. On the car ride home I stuck my pin wheel out the window and it went really really fast!
Overall I learned alot, and it was alot of fun. Next year me and mel want to get our friends into key club too. I'm excited about starting next year, just because convention kinda taught me the base of Key Club.
