Making it to State your 1st year eligible: Priceless...
Saturday (10.29)- Area Marching Contest... Our prelims show was good, but our finals show was AWESOME (at least for the colorguard)... We honestly didn't care if we made state... It would've been the perfect ending to the perfect season... But it couldn't hurt to still make it... ::wink::... We made 3rd in Prelims and 2nd in Finals... The three bands advancing to state are Hendrickson, Connally, and McCallum (BIG shock... Everyone thought it'd be Dripping Springs... I bet they were mad...) All the way to STATE!!!
Monday (Halloween)- Went trick-or-treating with the Fish... Kinda fun I guess... Trevor wore my fishnet shirt with his Tripp pants... I was a kitten... But by the end of the night, I was a vampire... Strange... Got a bunch of candy... I only have crap candy left now... Oh well...
Friday- Taylor Vs. Hendrickson... Spin club after halftime... All the sabres were there and Marissa too... I was nailing consistent quads on hilt (cause I can't do blades for shit)... Tried doing Derrick's quad where he catches on a backbend... I can't do backbends very well, but I caught it... I kept catching with my fingertips and my wrists... Pretty much wherever my gloves weren't at!... We had a weapons circle where we went around talking about one thing that each person does that is good about their technique... Aurora's was that she was busting out blade triples on her first day... Mine was that I'm not afraid of getting hurt, that I'll get hit in the head and still pick it up and try again with a smile on my face... Derrick's was that even though he had crappy technique, he performed like it was his last performance with a sabre... Damn, I LOVE our sabre line...
State's on Tuesday... We perform in prelims at 2:45... Wish us luck!!
