I seem to be having one of those days again in which all I want to do is shut myself off from the rest of the world and be alone. From looking at the calendar I see that it's roughly the right time of the month for my mood swings, so that's probably the cause. It's definitely a bit aggarvating feeling so depressed like this but I know that the feeling should pass in a few days.
I don't think it really helps that I'm also having the post-convention blues. Getting ready and going to a convention is always so much fun but coming home never fails to bring me down. Being at a con means I can act as goofy as I want and not worry about being judged because I'm around like minded folks. I can squee over cute plushies and figures and fangirl over music artists. Coming home means I have to bottle a lot of that up and can only have those reactions in my head.
I've been taking my mind off the post-con blues by planning my costumes for the next con. While I would LOVE to go to OniCon in October, I'm having serious doubts if I'd be able to make it. OniCon is in Houston and there is no way I'd be able to drive. It's hard enough driving to Lafayette or New Orleans and those are roughly 1 hour drives. Houston is a FOUR hour drive - so not going to happen unless I'm unconcious. The price of flying is out but the price of a train or bus ticket is within my range. The price of going will be more within my grasp if I get the full time cashier position. I should hopefully know about that soon.
Anyway, I've been planning my next costumes. Due to a calculation error on my part, I accidentally purchased too much pale yellow fabric for my Ouran cosplay. Originally I didn't know what I was going to do with the extra fabric but I've come up with an idea I'd like to try. I really would like to make a cosplay of my Avatar OC, Lady Saori. She's a character I've fiddled with before in fanfic and I like her quite a bit. Plus, making her costume would help me get better at my custom drafting skills. While I know how I want her outfit to look, it's putting the pieces together that will be the trick. That and getting the custom dying right.
My other costume is a simple one that shouldn't take too long. Puchiko from DiGi Charat has so many looks that all I'll have to do is get her hat done right - something I've already done. All I'd have to do is pick a cutesie outfit and go. XD
