Title: The Secret Diary Of Hope And Wonder
Warning: Hopefully this isn't as cheesy as my usual fluff is? Either way, OnKey fluff. Enjoy~!
“Okay, who the fuck opened my diary?”
Four suspects of the crime sit at the dining table, a crazed Kim Ki Bum pointing a pink fly swatter at each of them. He just knows it’s been pried open; when he woke up this morning, the lock was jammed and the key was bent (no pun intended). “As much as I’d just love to let this slide, I can’t. You can take my stuffed animals, you can even call me gay, but never, and I mean never, can you break into my diary.” Jong Hyun snickers, and Ki Bum slams the item in his hand hard against the surface of the table. “Shut up! This isn’t any laughing matter.”
First, he stares long and hard at his best friend. Jong Hyun is always one to steal personal items and play stupid pranks, but he never went for glamour, such as a pink journal with a fancy security system that his small brain, in Ki Bum’s opinion, wouldn’t be able to figure out.
But his eyes drift to Min Ho. His tall, alien-like teammate obviously has a thing for his son; of course he would like his mother’s honest opinion, even if it means invading another’s privacy. However, Ki Bum himself is completely blunt, and would not bother holding back insults or compliments.
Slowly, his eyes fall upon those of Tae Min’s. Gleaming with innocence, he immediately looks over him and chooses to probe his mind for reasons that his leader would need to break into his diary.
Lee Jin Ki is clumsy. It’s nothing new. Maybe he tripped on the nightstand and fell on top of the journal and screwed it up. But that’s totally illogical, he reminds himself. Jin Ki would have a semi-evident bruise on his face if he crushed the pink book.
All his suspects seem to be innocent in his mind, so he takes it a step further: interrogation.
“Okay, let’s start with Jong Hyun.” Quickly, Ki Bum shuts off the lights and takes the heat lamp from his desk in order to point it in his elder’s direction. “Where were you last night at 11:28 PM?” he questions with a voice sounding more like a cop’s.
“What the hell does that have to do with anything? You were still awake!”
“Just answer the damn question!” he hisses, holding up the fly swatter.
“O-okay, okay! I think I was, uh, in the shower!”
“After I went to sleep, what did you witness?”
The heat of the lamp is beginning to get to him. “In what sense?”
“Jong Hyun, answer the question or this lamp will be down your throat pretty soon.”
The boy’s eyes grew wide. “Geez, okay! I saw Jin Ki on his laptop before I went to sleep, if that means anything.”
“Wait, does that mean you,” he points to the lamp at Jin Ki, “were up the latest?”
Wine red stains the skin of his cheeks. “I, uh, yeah…” He braces himself for the follow up questions.
“If you were to break into my diary, what would your intentions be?”
“I don’t know!”
“ANSWER THE QUESTION.”
“IONLYLOOKEDATONEPAGEOKAY?”
All suspects are then claimed not guilty as Jin Ki runs away from the crazed mother chasing after him. Of course, Ki Bum follows him closely, the harmful object still securely in his grasp. “LEE JIN KI, YOU’RE GOING TO DIE!”
“K-Ki Bum, let’s be rational about this!!” he shouts, carefully avoiding objects in his path. The last thing he needs is to be right there for Ki Bum to attack him.
“WHY THE HELL’D YOU DO IT, HUH?” The younker gains speed, jumping on the leader’s back, weighing him down to the floor. “TELL ME AND MAYBE I WON’T HURT YOU.”
Considering it’s all that he can say to save his ass from Ki Bum’s foot kicking it, he decides to tell him the truth. “T-to see if you liked me too,” he whispers almost inaudibly.
“…wait, what did you say?” Ki Bum’s eyes grew a size larger, his angry expression slightly softening.
“I was scared you wouldn’t like me back, so I had to make sure you did. Y-you really meant what you wrote in those entries, right?” Sparkles are present in his eyes, Ki Bum notes to himself. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to ruin it, Key. I can, uh, try to fix it? I’ll take it into a book store and-”
He’s quickly silenced with a quick peck upon his lips. The blush upon his face comes back instantaneously as Ki Bum pulls away. “Stupid. Don’t go looking in there again!”
“I don’t need to anymore,” he mutters, following Ki Bum back into the kitchen to brag about the fact that he left the scene completely unscathed.
