Surf update/worst weekend ever!!!

Aug 01, 2004 09:01

So. This past weekend me and my two roommates Andrew and Aaron left to go on our surf trip to the East Coast to surf for a few days. We got our bags packed, we have food in the car and we have our boards strapped to the top of my Tahoe with XM Surf More straps. The three of us were totally stoked and extremely anxious to get over to Jacksonville. About 40 miles East of Tallahassee and about an hour away from our destination, we are heading down I-10 at about 72 mph…when the surf straps snap and two of the boards go flying off the top of my car and go tumbling down the interstate…we all start freaking out and yell “WHERES THE THIRD BOARD?!!!” When all of a sudden we look to the back of my car right as the third board, which is caught up in one the straps, comes flying through my back windshield!!!! Glass goes flying everywhere, the boards snaps back and joins the others on the side of the road…we start going nuts!!! We are heading at 70+ mph when all of three of our boards flew off the top of my car and one snapped back and shattered my windshield…it’s gone!!! Glass is up with us even in the front seats not to mention all over our stuff in the back cargo area. We hurry to the next exit to turn around and go back and get our boards…remember during this time we are screaming at the top of our lungs…tripping out…pissed off…completely shocked. We saw all three boards fly into the median which is full of grass….we turn around, go hauling back to where it all happened……………..OUR BOARDS ARE GONE!!!! Someone had already stopped off right as it had happened and jack our surfboards!!! We had no idea what to do!!! We untied the straps which were still intact…strapped well by Andrew and myself but they had actually RIPPED!!! They are not supposed to do that!!!! Long story short….We left on a Thurs. afternoon to go to Jacksonville…halfway there we are forced to stay in a hotel…call the cops…call my insurance company…and leave the next day (Friday afternoon) to go back home with no boards and no back windshield to my Tahoe and probably the most pissed off attitudes that we have ever had. People suck sometimes…I hope they have fun with our boards and I hope that they don’t get eaten by sharks or anything. It pretty much was one of the worst experiences ever. Needless to say, we are all pretty bummed out. The end.

…Xalways stay trueX…
