Magath vs Neuer - round two (and Benni breaks my heart, and not in the good way)

Oct 04, 2010 13:41

So after a couple of weeks ago Neuer had hinted he is unhappy with Magath, like a true (half) Puerto-Rican the coach did not stay quiet for long and after the 2-1 lost this past Saturday hinted that it was Neuer's fault.

He said / He said.... )

sigh, I do not understand this team. Why was the performance with Benfica really good, and then it totally fell apart again?

Although magath is blaming teh players, surely he is partly to blame as well. Isn't it part of the coach and his managing team's job scope to motivate players and get them in a right place psychogically, get them to focus, etc??

and are our team strategies and weakness so obvious that each team in BL can easily cut through it?

Wonderful talent like Neuer, Farfan, Huntelaar, Raul, Rakitic, are wasting away in a poorly-performing team.

*facepalm*

is there anyway out

And now everyone wanna take Manu away...

I really dislike Magath even more (oh god is that even possible?) now that he blamed the players. I mean, have some class will you?

Maybe the player were thinking of their NTs (I still think it was a stab at Neuer), but it's not your first time as coach, it's your job to make sure they're not looking for an international game to make them feel better about the club which paying their wages and they spend more time at!!

I don't think there is anything to do apart from paying for the mistakes he did with the transfers. I would like it if he would at least settle on a defensive line-up and let them get familiar to each other already.

our defence was perfect against Benfica.. SERIOUSLY. or maybe Benfica was having an off day again. I don't get what changed so drastically.

It's so sad that our attackers Raul, Farfan and Huntelaar are on form (or improved) during the majority of the games and the midfield and defence is dead.

I was just kinda thinking... "Hey Magath not too bad, maybe he saw something in the long term that we didn't." after the 3 games where we didn't lose.

And now all this animosity btwn Magath and the players, clearly is not helping at all!!!!!!! And of course Neuer already kinda showed his opinion about Magath at the start with the Kleine Gruppe fan t-shirts....

Papa was on fire against Benfica, seriosuly on fire, I haven't watch enough actual footage from the last game so I don't know how did on that game, but for an 18yo to be inconsistent wouldn't be a big surprise.

Also, Benni is not a RB! Stop making him feel like shit by playing him out of his position! Or, if you wanna try someone else at CB at least let him be back-midfield or something.

And I really feel clueless right now. What is the story with the Kleine Gruppe? Is it the story as the ticket price, something about them not meeting/talking with the fans about it?

Everytime our players are out of position, they get mauled horribly..
Benni, Matip, I'm pretty sure tehre are more examples.

Yeah kleine gruppe was the fan debacle, not sure of the finer details. But it was when magath defended his firing of that fan representative guy and said the unhappy people were a small group. Then after one of the matches, Neuer wore the T-shirt that said Kleine Gruppe in solidarity with the maybe 1000 or 2000 fans who wore that shirt in protest of what Magath had said and done. and he gave out a couple of shirts to some of the players as well, who claimed they didnt' know the significance of it.

I mean that's pretty gutsy of Neuer eeh.

Yeah, that's not a nice thing to do if you wanna get a long with your coach, but I have to say it makes me love Manu even more.

I mean fans are what makes a team really great, and there is so much ungratefulness going on that it greats to see someone acknowledging how important it is. (I'm quite a big music geek, and that got me really addicted to fan-tributes :)

Just when the band show love back to the fans, for example my fav band (Kaiser Chiefs) if someone really stood out in the crowd for them, they ask security or roadies to make sure they get something (guitar plec, setlist and so on ( ... )

omg that's such a cool story!!

I do not have any cool fan-related anecdotes to share except that how cool is it that Lewis Holtby will follow you back on twitter! it's like his little way of saying 'thanks buddy for your support!' Mertesacker stopped at like 900 something but Holtby is into the 6000+.

as a fan, I am quick to criticise and moan and groan but will always stick by my team. like how germany sucked in the 2004 Euros but wth, still root for them all the way.

i'm rambling off topic now...

Oy, this is my topic so rambble on :P Also, as I said if it make us Schalkers smile it's not off-topic.

I am a really big fangirls, nothing is enough for me, Schalke are coming to Israel and I got tickets? Great, now I won't rest until I meet them. I get angry with myself for being like that sometimes, but the good part of it is that I have stories like these...

Oh god, I am a huge criticizer of my band, if they annoy me in interviews or anything else they do I say it. It doesn't mean I love them any less, I'm just a rubbish fan like that :D

Of course it's exactly the same with Schalke and Die Mannschaft, if they suck I'd be first to say so, but I still love them of course.
