Team of the season 2009/2010
The German Union of Contracted Footballers (VDV) has announced its best line-up of the 2009-10 Bundesliga season. The VDV represents the German FA (DFB), League Association (DFL), and players' union, totalling 1,300 professional footballers.
The team honoured consists of players who represented Schalke, Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, Hamburg and Wolfsburg during the season. Third place finishers Werder Bremen had no representatives.
Goalkeeper: Manuel Neuer (Schalke)
Defenders: Philipp Lahm (Bayern Munich), Sami Hyypia (Bayer Leverkusen), Mats Hummels (Borussia Dortmund), Dennis Aogo (Hamburg)
Midfielders: Arjen Robben, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Thomas Mueller (all Bayern Munich), Toni Kroos (Bayer Leverkusen)
Forwards: Stefan Kiessling (Bayer Leverkusen), Edin Dzeko (Wolfsburg)
