Michael Rensing has lost his spot in the Bayern starting XI to Hans Jorg Butt...
Young goalie Michael Rensing is no longer first choice goalkeeper at Bayern Munich. Head coach Juergen Klinsmann has made the decision to promote veteran shot stopper Hans Jorg Butt as his new first choice goalie.
Rensing is a product of the Bayern Munich youth academy and was considered as the natural successor of the legendary Oliver Kahn, who retired at the end of last campaign.
However, Rensing failed to live up to the expectations so far and Klinsmann opted to bench the 24-year-old for the Champions League clash against Barcelona last week.
The goalie expected to return to the starting XI last weekend, but Bayern's head coach has made it clear that Butt is his new first choice goalie for the remainder of this campaign.
The 34-year-old joined Bayern from Portuguese side Benfica last summer, but he played the majority of his career at Bayer Leverkusen.
