Klose requires operation on damaged ankle
Munich - Miroslav Klose needs an operation on an ankle injury that will keep the Germany striker out of action for several weeks, his club Bayern Munich confirmed Sunday.
Klose damaged ligaments in his right ankle in Bayern's 3-0 defeat of VfL Bochum Saturday and the 30-year-old will now miss at least one Bundesliga match and Germany's upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Liechtenstein and Wales.
The operation will take place in the coming days after which time Bayern will now exactly how long Klose will be out for.
'It's a big blow for us,' said Bayern coach Juergen Klinsmann, who is already without Italy striker and France midfielder Franck Ribery, although the pair are expected to return to training Tuesday.
