I certainly hope that one day Big Chief is making a Jack Harkness figure with coat and braces and webley and everything, but in the meantime, I am doing my own! Each day more clothes arrive for him. Today this happened.
The pants have even loops so I can put a belt into them! He does not quite fill out the bum though, I need to do something about that.
I certainly hope one day we will get a real nice Jack from Big Chief, but this is a small company which is just starting, it might take some years yet. I did not want to wait that long. The only Jack figure out there is that Tonner doll, but it is 18" so would not fit with the Doctor and, while the clothes are nice, the face does not look like JB at all. It is just a doll face. And for the amount of money they cost, I want a real good face.
We actually have to thank John who has to approve all the figures - the first that came out, that Jack in that Air Force uniform, they just wanted to put a generetic head onto him but John said the kids want Captain Jack with his real face!
This is actually my first attempt of making my own 1:6 figure, but I have changed a few of the smaller ones already, using Milliput for a bit of sculpting, and then repainting. It's really not that difficult. Get some cheap loose figures and some Milliput and try it! I saw it first with a friend who had done John in his kilt and in his Robin Hood costume.
Here is my list of all the figures I have done so far - there's David Tennant as Hamlet and in his Much Ado About Nothing uniform, or John in his concert suit with glitter, or Owen who was missing from the Torchwood team, and so on:
