AFT Doctor Who: The Doctors at the 50th anniversary special

Nov 24, 2013 22:42

So yesterday was the big day, and of course my Doctors wanted to come to the cinema as well to see their show on the big screen. I had to smuggle them in in my bag, as I hadn't bought a ticket for them. Then again, I probably could have, as old as they are, they could have gotten pensioner's discount. Anyway, here are some pictures of our journey ( Read more... )

Aw, I love the photostory!

I was talking to Scottie about your entry and the 100th episode, he said that the 100th will have to win an award for being the largest interplanentary simulcast. xD Then the 200th will have to be intergalactic. ehehehe!

Hehe, I said something similar recently! Our Facebook group calls itself "global Torchwood group" and I said, we need a fan in the ISS or when the mission to Mars starts, so we can call it interplanetary. Intergalactic would be something else though! (and you can't expect them all understanding English. You would need a TARDIS for translation)

*giggles* They're a handful!

Glad you all enjoyed the 50th anniversary!

Also, those fossilised trees are really cool!

They certainly are! And they like to argue.

Yeah, it was wonderful! Just watched it again, as it was repeated at BBC3.

I remember those trees from my childhood when I was the last time in Chemnitz. Back then they were laying around outside, now they are under a roof. But you don't need to pay entry to see them.

Can you please tell me if there is anything odd about this entry? Like, bolded text which shall not be bolded? Because in the e-mail notification, I see bolded text, but not when I look at the actual entry. Just wondering if I need to change something.

No, everything looks perfectly normal to me, no bold text anywhere. How strange that your email shows it differently.

Yes, I watched the repeat tonight as well. It was just as brilliant the second time around!

Those fossilized trees look amazing.

LOL at the dolls' adventure. They look so cute in their raincoats.

I don't think I've seen your 11 doll before. He seems really, really tan. Has he been laying out in the sun? ;)

LOL the raincoats are simple plastic bags which I cut at one side and used the corner as a hood. Works well! It was such a grey rainy day.

Yeah, somehow I missed doing a proper "introducing Eleven" post. He was firstly featered in the garden swing pictures here: http://dieastra.livejournal.com/77198.html

People have commented on his tan then also, but in real life he actually looks ashen, grey. As if he was sick. I think they overdid it a bit there with the color. It's possible the pictures of Matt Smith they used as a reference, which also were kinda greyish.

Wow, that's interesting that it looks grey in real life. Would never have imagined that.

It's not too bad actually. I guess it is a quite realistic skin color. It just sticks out so much since his hands are simple plastic and much more pink. They should have matched it better.

From 1953 to 1990 Chemnitz was known as Karl-Marx-Stadt, so of course you have MArx there...and I enjoyed it a lot....I watched it in 3D in a cinema, too

It was, but it still doesn't make sense. They just chose this city randomly. It would have made sense with Trier for example, where he was born. Or London, where he lived for long ;)

It was wonderful to see it on the big screen! Also the 3-D worked well, it was not overdone. It's great to think that everywhere in the world fans were doing the same in the same minute. I hear for Australia it was very early in the morning.

yeah, but Trier was not East Germany!
^^

and yes, it was a great feeling...to be part of it...

a friend had seat K9!

LOL No it wasn't.

Were you in Chemnitz as well? I am from Dresden actually, where even two cinemas played it - but they weren't on the list originally so we already had tickets when they got announced. They really should have made their mind up earlier. We even asked the CinemaXX and they said they don't see any interest. The "not interested" bought 175 seats in the first airing and 90 seats in the second airing...

Was habt Ihr denn gemacht?
