On with last year's Cardiff travel report - need to finish these before the travels I have planned for this year.

On to part 3

Directly around the corner from the the Oakdale Workmen’s Institute we found the Gwalia stores and Gwalia Tea rooms. And I'm sure every Doctor Who fan will recognize those from the episodes "Human Nature/Family of Blood ( Read more... )

Glad you liked it, even without getting the references! It's a lovely place indeed and in November I will go back (got tickets for another concert). Can't wait!

Old Welsh villages are so quaint and inviting. I can't remember the name of the town I visited, but it looked very similar to what is shown in your lovely photos. Thanks again for the tours!

Oh, I've been there! The chickens chased me a lot.

LOL you too? When we sat down on a bench at the farm, suddenly a lot of chickens, ducks and turkeys ran towards us - they apparently wanted to get fed ;)
Lovely place, I want to go back this November.

I live in Wales, so I was bound to go there at some point. We all eventually do, haha!

It's quite a charming place, though, so it's all fine.

I was genuinely too scared to even try to feed them, they just kept running after me.

I could have spent so much longer at St Fagans when I went a couple of years back. It's great isn't it?

Thanks for the photos. I used up the memory on my camera when I went so don't have many.

Hope you also found the previous parts! And you're welcome, there will be some more, also of the castle and the park. Not much flowers around in October, but still lovely.

As soon as I read in my travel guide about this open air museum I said that I want to go there - that was even before I knew that it was a Doctor Who location. Last year I visited something similar near Vancouver, a little old American town, and I loved it.
