Hauls: Goodies from the Canadian Post office

Oct 09, 2016 00:56

Yes, I'm spamming today but I NEED to show you the awesome things my Canadian friend niviene has sent me from the Canadian Post office! Stamps and a stamp dispenser, looking like a mail box, all with lovely Enterprise decoration. Isn't it awesome? An early birthday gift for me (my birthday is next week). Thank you my friend! *hugs*

What a lovely gift! Kirk looks like he's just won a tv competition and got a check ;) They always have big ones.

Haha yes!

I also think he is a bit envious and thinks Spock got the cooler gift.

Come on, Kirk, I'm sure Spock will let you use his gift, too. You're friends ;)

I bought a sheet of the stamps when I was in Canada in July, and gave them to a woman at the office who's a serious Trekkie. I write ST fanfic but only VOY, and apart from the Bat'leth over our TV and some Tom Paris action figures, I'm not big on that collecting thing myself. But she is, and the look on her face was priceless! Yay Canada, home of Captain Kirk and Scotty!

PS: All that said, I must lay my hands on the Star Trek dollars... http://nerdist.com/star-trek-money-is-now-legal-tender-in-canada/

That's great and nice that you thought of her. I bet she was over the moon!

I hear they were sold out at some post offices already so the more precious they are to me.

I think it's great that there is so much different stuff out there to please everyone. Me, I am not much into coins but my brother has ordered the set. From a seller here in Germany, I can ask him if you want. Saves on shipping costs and custom fees also.

I believe he only got the Kirk coin so far and will get the others one after the other over time. So he has not to pay it all at once as it is rather expensive.

I'll be in Canada the end of the month for a week, and will look for the coins there. No shipping or customs for me! :-) But thanks for the offer -- that's really sweet!! <3

Awww I love the Kirk and Spock pic....it's so cute and the mail dispenser looks so tiny (it's small) but I don't think I realized how big your figures actually were!

The big ones are 12", similar to Barbie size.
I've shared this picture on Twitter yesterday and Quantum Mechanix retweeted it and even congratulated me for the birthday. They loved it as well.

Then I have the 5" Kirk as shown in the other picture, he came with a Galileo shuttlecraft. My regular small figures from Diamond Select are 7".

I see now with the Barbie comparisons...

I deeply apologize for missing your birthday yesterday (one of those crazy days) please forgive me?

Herzlichen Glückwunsch nachträglich :) I hope you had a wonderful day!

Dankeschön!

Aw, nothing to be sorry for, I had my gift already! The big family party with food and gifts was on Saturday anyway, so you were right on time.
