AFT Doctor Who: Bad Wolf Bay

It's ten years today since this happened: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wdj16x6LYcThe last episode of season 2, "Doomsday", aired on July 8th 2006. I took these pictures a long time ago when I got the new figure but they never seemed good enough for posting. But with an ( Read more... )

I've been seeing a lot of 'ten years since' related to Who and TW. Ten years. Seem hard to comprehend. Ten years of being immersed in a fictional world that sometimes seems so much more interesting and fun (and devastating) than the real one I inhabit. Fan fiction. And these dioramas. The best things ever. Thank you.

Yeah, I've seen them on the BBC Twitter account. I came into fandom a bit later, only really after David Tennant already had left. I had watched it before, but then took a break and only came back with Torchwood. So it's not as long for me. But yeah, it's a huge part of our life! And we're getting older and older...

If you like, watch this, it's hilarious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QfK8y7KVADo

Aw, thank you! I love coming to the internet and seeing all kind of fan creations - be it music videos or fanfictions or those that make costumes. Sometimes I wonder what normal people do with all their time and if it isn't boring, just eating and sleeping and not being excited about the newest action figure.

You may have noticed that I have been hooked with Star Trek recently, and with the latest Doctor Who seasons not being as good it has taken a bit of a backseat for now, but I hope it will improve again. I certainly want to go to the 100th anniversary!

He just never shuts up, does he? Poor Rose. I was kind of hoping that by the end she'd just be 'Whatever. I don't even care anymore."

Yeah, that must have been a rollercoaster of emotions for her! But the random River Song cracks me up every time. I guess I have to watch more videos on that page.

It was very well done, for a while I couldn't figure out whether that was really David Tenannt or not. Whoever did it, has studied him well.

Thank you!

I think I can also use this hologram Doctor to make a scene with him beaming onto the Enterprise LOL

They've released a hologram Doctor so fans can act out one of the most heartbreaking scenes in the new series' history! Following that idea, they should make Doctors in the middle of regeneration. Or is it too painful to be fun...?

You could take one more photo, with Rose alone, it would be like he's vanished.

I'm not entirely sure if that's what the figure was done for, but what else could it be otherwise? He was a special figure, came out two years ago. He was only available in the BBC shop and also did not get the proper box etc., just a bag if I remember correctly. It was not said exactly that he was done for this scene. Personally, I intend to let him beam aboard the Enterprise LOL

The middle of regeneration is a good idea actually. Maybe I can customize one! There is a Star Trek figure that is half transluscent and half real, shown in the middle of beaming.

Yeah, that's how I should have done it, but I took them two years ago and when I read about the anniversary yesterday I didn't feel like digging out the sand again. I just grabbed what I had.

Maybe we can come up with other funny ideas for him to be used ;)

Oh, and watch this. Do you know this? It was given to me in a comment. I think it's hilarious: Reply

Great idea!

I've seen the video, it's really funny. Three stars and the Daleks! (And I wasn't even surprised, of course they came back two minutes after they have been destroyed.) And Donna! I think my favourite bit is when the Doctor says "Of course I do" like it's obvious and doesn't really change anything - because it's true. I don't know why some fans got obsessed by the unspoken "I love you" line.
Have you seen the one with Eleven, Batman and Superman? I wish they made more Doctor Who videos!

My favorite bit is random River song showing up. I always crack up at that time ;)
I was never really a shipper. In my mind, the (Ninth) Doctor looked like an old man, and I thought Rose was like 16 or something. It was a bit icky in my view ;) When I first watched those episodes, I was not in the fandom and apparently missed all the little glues. So the "I love you" came a bit out of nowhere for me!

Yes, I've seen the Eleven, Batman and Superman one as well! Whoever voices these, got both the Tenth Doctor and Eleventh Doctor's voices quite well!

Sadly I can't watch most of the other videos as I don't know the movies or series and then the humor would be lost on me. Are they still making new ones? May be worth checking back once in a while then.

There is! Bought him two years ago. I am not sure what this was really, he did not come in one of the usual boxes, just in a bag. I had stumbled about it online and then HAD to have it.

I think he may beam onto the Enterprise one day ;)
