Of course, there are awesome American series. I really liked White Collar, that was great. Also the American Queer as Folk version, even though it started as a copy of the British. I also loved Six Feet Under.
But I get what you mean with the CW. In Arrow at least they have some elderly actors it's worth watching for (well, until they started to kill them off) but I couldn't get into Smallville, as I felt I was not the targeted audience. And Arrow has declined a lot since its first season. Everyone is complaining. And instead of getting out John Barrowman just signed a new contract so he will be in even more shows we have all to watch :( (and he just sent a FB message that he has to cancel his photo options and panel at the Montreal convention as there apparently was a threat to his name. WTF???)
OMG I just watched the Deep Space Nine episode where they go back in time to the original Enterprise and immerse the actors into the original Tribbles episode. That was great fun! It's the first I saw of DS9. Makes me want to watch more.
