I am incredibly amused by how many variations of Captain Kirk the world deemed we needed! Not every person can say, for example, there was demand for a battered action figure of themselves. *g* Though let's be honest, if they were trying to be true to the show his shirt needs to be ripped, lol! Though perhaps they felt they got that out of the way with the Amok Time one...

There are even more Kirks I have seen pictures of but haven't bought yet as I am not sure I need them. The Kirk that was looking like a Romulaner (haven't seen the episode yet), the Kirk from the beginning of the series when the shirts were a different kind of yellow and all wore them, and of course the Kirk in the red uniform from the first movie... And that are only the Diamond Select / Asylum Artists ones. There are smaller (more plastic/face lookin) ones by Playmates, and they also have him in the red shirt and brown jacket from when he was in New York in 1930 ( ... )

I'm pretty sure that mega-phaser-rifle is from "Where No Man Has Gone Before" -- the final action sequence on the planet, with Kirk hunting down whatshisname, Gary.

Ah, thank you very much! It feels so long ago that I watched that episode. In the beginning you are more occoupied with getting to know the characters and don't pay so much attention to details. I already feel a re-watch of the first few episodes is in order, now that I know all of them a little better and they feel like family to me. I shall do that and find out! I don't think there is a Gary figure to re-create the scene though. There's Kirk and Pike in those old different yellow sweaters.

Astra, showing off her newly snatched Kirk icon by ;)

I have to say I'm getting a huge kick out of your enjoyment of the original Trek! I watched it when it first aired, fell in love immediately, of course, and was devastated when it was cancelled. Looking back, you could probably call it my very first fandom (although I was far too young and isolated to do any fannish things at the time).

Heh, thanks! I am indeed enjoying myself immensely. Why did nobody ever tell me how great that was? Oh wait, I guess they probably did, I just never listened ( ... )

Wow, these are really nice figures, especially in terms of the articulation and ability to pose them in various ways! I think it's so great that there's still so many cool figures to be had out there even for a show as old as this (granted, it might be old but it's still very popular and in the public eye but still... ;) ).

So sorry I didn't comment on each entry, I decided it was better to condense down to one comment than keep waiting to have time to do them individually. *blush* But I love the figures and your pictures are all fantastic! \o/ ♥♥♥

I've read, that at the time the show originally aired, there wasn't any merchandise. That only came a decade later, when it was in syndication and had become really popular. I also read a company is working on 1:6 figures. I am so doomed...

I can't wait to actually do proper pictures with them! So far I only introduced them. I have so many ideas. I realized that I could do lovely sickbay scenes, as I have lots of medical equipment... Just let me get my McCoy first. Sadly he only exists in longe sleeved shirt, the short sleeved version (with hairy arms if I see the prototype right - really hairy!) was cancelled. The only figure that made it was the green Kirk. I would have loved to have the women as well.

I mean, look at those arms: http://img.trekmovie.com/images/merchandise/dst_tos5_group_blue.jpg

(wonder if I could customize one? Same like I did with Hamlet? Also I am honestly trying to do acustomized Kirk with ripped open shirt LOL
