Jun 11, 2015 22:46

How do you manage your 'hand held' models? I've tried this, but age and wobbly hands don't help get a sharp photo.

Hi Ian!

It is indeed very difficult holding a figure with one hand and taking pictures with the other. I end up taking lots of them to get one good one.

However, the hand in the first picture actually isn't mine. Someone from our group offered to hold for me and this is so much easier. So my advice would be, have a helping friend nearby?

I did think of something like a 'selfie stick' to hold the figure (at the right distance)attached to the tripod. I might try this over the summer.

But won't you shake even more with a long stick? The best is of course finding a surface to stand them on, a wall or something. Or standing them at the ground and crouch very, very low ;)

May I ask where I can see your pictures? I always love to see the work of others, no matter which fandom. Or are you the Ian from Facebook? I befriended an Ian there recently but he has a different surname so I am not sure.

You can see some of my feeble attempts at www.summerwine.net/community/threads/last-of-the-summer-time-lords
where I use Dr Who figures to re-enact pictures from a UK TV programme, now no longer produced, but was the longest running at about 27 years. Last of the summer wine was about three elderly men with time on there hands, and the things they got up to.
I have a small collection of figures, including the new 5 inch Sherlock, and hope to extend their outings this summer.
On FB I'm Ian Jopson, your welcome to find me, though I don't post much.

Sadly the link is not working, is it possibly visible only for members? I found the picture with Ten on your FB though. Nice! The angle is right to make him look real ( ... )

The Tennant photo is great. I've been spending some time browsing your site and enjoying every minute. I wish I had the time, but other interests also demand attention. I'm currently building a 221b Baker St. lounge to hold the 5inch Sherlock, and possibly let him interact with some of the other figures from Dr.Who and Primeval.

Man, I really have some old comments I never replied to!

Thank you, glad you liked my stuff!

Just wanted to ask whether the lounge ever was finished and where can I see it? I guess that's why I kept the comment to be reminded to ask later.
