Customizing: I made a scimitar for my Dark Archer figure!

I don't have the Dark Archer figure yet - John Barrowman has, lucky guy! Here is a picture: http://www.toymania.com/newspics/1014_dcc_arrow2.jpg

But I loved the scene of John sharpening his scimitar and I wanted to make one. Thanks to the people at linguaphiles I also was able ( Read more... )

Thank you! I'm on a roll lately it seems ;)
What else could I make? I'm still wondering why I can't buy all the pieces that are in this picture - I don't want to make the whole Arrow cave!

You're very talented. You could make $$ at this. I don't doubt others would want some of the things you make for their collections especially if they can't find it on line! Etsy....just sayin' :)

I was thinking that today. The sword might be easy to duplicate if someone wants it. Then again, I always provide pictures, so if people are interested, they can try themselves. It's really not that complicated.

The salmon ladder took a bit more work and I don't think I want to cut more of these arrows from cardboard. That was quite difficult as it was very thick.

So far I had only customized figures and was afraid of offering to selling them, becaus of copyright and the like - but with those props, it's an idea indeed. Now idea how much money to ask for it though!

The cost of each prop would depend on the cost of materials, factoring in time spent to create the prop, then finding how much conventional props cost but adding a bit on top because it's a custom piece and for that each item would be different prices.

You just have to decide if you want to spend the time making extra props (figure out which ones you'd recreate (not the salmon ladder obviously lol) & how many of each ). If so, you could always put up a note on your LJ that you're willing to do limited custom jobs for certain props and see who is interested. Might be worth it but who knows for sure.

*applause* That turned out awesome! :D Really beautiful work, I seriously doubt they could have made anything that would've come out even half as good looking! Can't hardly wait for your Malcolm figure to arrive and for us to get pictures of him with his awesome scimitar! :D *more applause* :D ♥♥♥

Thank you so much! Yes, now comes the long wait till May so I can actually shoot this scene. I need to find a table yet also. So sad I can't include it into the Arrow action figure album for John that I will give him at the con. But I made a second sword for him - don't tell him ;)
