Salary is a pretty cool concept; I really enjoy this, "show up whenever Jake wants, leave whenever Jake wants, get paid whatever Jake wants" attitude.
Raises are always a welcomed prospect, especially when they're accompanied by the news of being put on salary.
As momentous an occasion this may be, it still terrifies me because I get the feeling that the "end of my life" is starting. I wish I could shake these thoughts but I've been shakin' in my boots since graduation.
In an unrelated story, I forgot to mention the purchasing of my first dictionary with my own money ever! It was on sale at Fry's Electronics (my mecca) the other day and was just too damn sexy to turn down: Meriam Websters Collegiate Dictionary and Thesaurus for only $10. That brings the grand total of dictionaries in my house to seven. An oddity, considering there's only five people in my family, only four of which who would actually open a dictionary in the first place.
